Canon Vixia HF200 HELP!!!!

Ok so i got a Canon Vixia HF200 as a gift and I've filmed a bunch of skiing on it but now I go to edit it and all that it came with was software to play the files which are weird .mts file type. Anyone got any ideas of what software I need to edit or if i can change the files so i can edit them (I have a laptop that runs vista)

Final Cut Pro (mac), Sony Vegas, Adobe premier. All of these should work

Since you mentioned .mts, I'll assume the HF200 shoots in avchd. Do you have Final cut or Premier Pro?

if you got a pc, premiere pro cs5, or sony vegas

or if you are pretty good at editing: after effects

if you have a mac: Final Cut Express, or for more money, but sicker, Final Cut Pro

It is indeed AVCHD. Don't fuck with the software that came with it. Get either final cut, or premiere and just drag the clips off the camera into the program.

he has a mac so final cut wouldn't work and it doesn't edit avchd natively anyways. but premiere does
