Canon t2i Workflow with Final Cut?

Any users of the Canon t2i know a good workflow that will work for the T2i editing in Final Cut?
Noob Questions: -My file sizes are always huge when im finished editing and I cant upload to vimeo, how do I compress it?-What conversion needs to happen to edit t2i files in FC without waiting anywhere from 10-15 minutes for a clip to render?
Any help is appreciated, share your knowledge.
 
export quicktime, h.264, 1280x720, best quality (or lower depending on fine size).
as far aas your render times....what are you transcoding your footage to before editing? ProRes?
