i am thinking about asking for this camera for chirstmas im just starting to get into photography and i also need somthing for my pictures for graphic design
 
ya its a solid camera its the successor to the a85. the image quality is really good for a point and shoot cam. it is also a really good place to start if you want to get into photography. it blows everything in its class out of the water. I am using a nikon d70 but had the a60 and it was a really nice camera. outperformed 5mp cameras at its time. if you have any more questions just email me.
 
I have one... it's a pretty good camera I think, the photos are good quality for a point and shoot.

I think some photos that came from one are in my profile
 
go for the Canon SD400 if you want a point and shoot. it has a bunch of quasi-manual adjustments that would come in handy.
