can get it for $10. what will the quality be like. anyone know a good adapter for t3i? opinions quite welcomed

I hear FD doesn't convert very well. Spend an extra 20 bucks and go pentax.
fd lenses dont mix well with newer canons/nikons/sony's, which is part of the reason they are so cheap. You can use them, but you need an adapter with glass in it to achieve infinity focus, and this results in low image quality. However, if you had a gh2 (or any mirrorless camera/one with a shorter flange distance) it would work fine, it would just limit you if/when you upgrade bodies
