Just recently bought a new vixia hf r800 and even tho it said on the product description it can turn of stabilization it won’t let me, and even tho there’s a tab for I can’t open it. Please help me asap I don’t feel like getting a new camera
 
Do you have some sort of "auto" setting on? These kinda cameras are suppose to be dummy proof, so you might need to put it in manual mode first.

It might also be in demo mode I believe. The problem is I can see the tab where the setting to turn on the stabilization is but it won’t let me open the tab

Yeah definitely sounds like you need to change a setting, maybe do a fac reset?
