After trying out some new cameras i decided that i am going to buy a 60D. For just the body it is around 900$ for the body and kit lens its around 1200$. Should i buy the package or just buy the body and a different lens for around the same price (300$). At best buy i can get 50% off lens with my friend who gets employee discount. so i could in theory get a 600$ lens and pay the same amount. any suggestions on lens to buy preferably sold at best buy would be appreciated. and i will be using the camera primarily for photography out on the lake this summer wake boarding and surfing.

I might be selling my 60d in the near future, under 12k actions, looks brand new cosmetically. I'll throw in a battery and a 16gig class 10 transcend card. I also have an extended warranty that covers all defects with years remaining, it's fully transferable in Canada but I'll check if that also works for Americans.
