Canon 5D Mk IV

Canon will be releasing the new 5D Mk IV in a few months.

What specs do you predict will be built into it? What do you want to see? Will it have 4k video?

I hope there will be faster fps, hopefully over 10 (5DMkiii has 6fps).

I read a rumour that stated that the 5D IV will be split into two cameras, one focusing on photo, the other video. I'd still prefer mirrorless for my next body though, regardless if the camera has 4K or not

I think they need 4K. Canon I think knows that. They have been slacking ever since the A7** and the GH4 came out. I think it's very likely it'll have something along the lines of 4k whether it be at 30fps or what. When the 7d mark ii came out, that was a huge step in the right direction and I hope to see that kind of leap in the new 5d

Would love to see 4k @ 60 fps and 1080p @ 240 fps but unfortunately I doubt that will happen.

Lol if the C300 doesn't have it, the 5d absolutely will not. It'll honestly probably only shoot uhd and they'll save cinematic 4k for the cinema cameras. They're not gonna make the best camera they can, they're gonna make a camera that has enough features to get people to buy it, but enough missing so that people will want to upgrade to the cine line.

That would make sense. 4K in a 5D could really hurt Canon's 1DC and C500 sales, but on the other hand, they can't afford for all the 5D fanboys to jump ship to Panasonic or Sony if they release another $3K camera with minimal upgrades. They really should add an affordable GH4 or A7S competitor in the Canon cinema line instead.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Canon's cash cow in the "soccer mom" demographic? Hence having an assortment of low-end SLRs and releasing new models with superficial updates. That's their tried-and-true business model, it seems. And I don't know of any spectacular change in consumer preferences that would make this tactic any less profitable than it always has been.
