So at about 8:30 tonight I killed two young possums, trying to get into the garage, doin some damage to a front door we are replacing, etc. Shot em with a .17 HMR, hunters will understand what I'm getting at but basically it translates to some pretty big holes. I look out now and there are two more of these things, EATING the two dead ones that I left until morning.I shit you not. I knew they were omnivores but I didn't think they stooped that low.

It wouldn't phase me at all if I didn't know what they were eating, but I finished off one of those with a hatchet not 3 hours hours ago.
 
I knew as soon as I looked at it that somebody was gonna say that.

And yes, I killed two vermin. We've been waiting to have this door done for 3 days now, and now because the darn things walked all over the stuff while it was wet we have to reseal some stuff. Yes I used a hatchet, its dark I dont want to shoot more than I have to. Yes, this is how life is in the country so get over it.

And yes, one possum is still chowin down. He's got twice his body weight to eat, I don't think he'll be movin to fast tomorrow so it should be easy pickin.
 
Haha, thats sick, both cool and gross. You should have gotten the two live ones, starve them, then put them in a pen and have them fight.
 
lol, reminds me of the time my budy whacked an armadillo with a hatchet. We were camping on an island for a week, and he actually cooked it and ate it. was wierd...
 
ah yah i heard about that if you touch them or something the hamster will eat its babies because it doesnt recognize them..all of them
 
I went to the zoo and this one lady was holding a possum, I pet it but now that you mentioned it I should of hit it with a hatchet.
