For anyone who doesn't know, The Cold Vein is the debut album from Cannibal Ox, comprised by New York rappers Vordul Mega and Vast Aire. The album was produced entirely by El-P, and the album is pretty fucking amazing. Who else listens to this masterpiece?
 
I am going to make a pretty big assumption here, and I am sure I will be pretty close to an accurate portrayal of you.
You are somewhere between the ages of 14-17. One of your 'homies' totally showed you this dope 'underground' hip hop that is really deep with really sick and weird beats man. And you heard it and liked it. Then you downloaded the album three days ago and you have been listening to it over and over all day. Trying to enjoy the shitty songs on the album and really getting jazzed on the cool songs. You wanted to seem cool to a group of your peers that you know this 'underground' hip hop act from the early 2000's and act like you have known about them for years. Since you were probably 2-5 years old when the album dropped I highly doubt it.
There is no hate here, and I am happy you're happy. But if everyone posted 'new found' albums in NSG of some psuedo obscure hippy act from 69 who never made it big or some underground white rapper from chicago who is shit but his lyrics are deep man. We would have hundreds of threads a day. I am sure there is a cult for this sort of stuff.
Again no hate, just maybe contemplate making threads that are worth it or not.
Oh and the album isn't a masterpiece, it's not good, and it's 'underground' because of it.
 
No reason to rip into the kid like that, when his only crime is being stoked on an album and there were multiple threads on pooping yesterday.
 
Laid up in bed with a fucked up ankle that is purple and twice it's size. I can't skate for an unknown amount of time. I'm being saltier than the Dead Sea today.
 
With that being said, you know my post is pretty damn accurate and if every tom dick and harry posted new albums they recently found out about nsg would be horrendous.
 
shit man haha your picture is in some ways somewhat accurate (yeah I'm 16) but man your wrong in many ways and I'm just trying to start a little discussion here, for me NS lacks in good hip-hop discussion threads (maybe I haven't looked hard enough) and I dunno I just wanted to see if any other NSers listened to what I think is a very, very good album. You could be right about there being a cult for this kind of stuff though, I'm just not part of it
 
I just found out that Illmatic by nas is a good album, if I posted a thread about that saying "yo guyz check out how sick this is!" people would think I walked out of a fucking time machine from 18 years ago. If you're really stoked on music then the best thing you can do is appreciate it by listening to it.

they all suck because everybody on newschoolers can't accept that not everybody likes the same music as them.

the only reason I clicked on this thread in the first place was because it had a wacky name. if you had titled it "check out this album iz dope" or anything close to that I would pay no attention.

well I didn't really make the thread to show others the album, it was more intended for discussion of said album (discussion of lyrics, production, favourite songs/verses/lines, etc..)
 
cannibal ox is pretty unknown for how good they are. pick up a copy of tony hawk underground and listen to the song they got on there and youll stop complaining
 
he suggested someone should pick up a video game from 2004 to listen to a song.

ah, I didn't even notice that haha I thought you were laughing at the song choice. I agree that was a pretty stupid suggestion, but you could still listen to the song. Its called Iron Galaxy
 
notice how I said good hip-hop discussion threads... I don't see how its possible to have tons of good threads that suck.

Don't encourage making shitty obscure thread titles because you don't know who Cannibal Ox is. If the OP did anything right it was the title of the thread. I knew exactly what I was getting myself into before I opened the thread..
