for the love of all things badass, why do the candide and jon invites have to be on the same weekend? i think it's a disservice to the world's best riders as well as the ridiculous features at both sites -- not to mention it sucks for us who want to see everyone get to hit everything.
 
that is pretty stupid...its obviously Candide & Jon being competitive.

looks like the JOI has a far better lineup than the Candide though?!

Candide has people like Sage going - isn't he just a big mountain skier??
 
sage cabbrata-alosa is mainly big mountain but most of those guys can still rip in the park. its sort of like pollard. all you hear of him these days is rippin the backcountry but he can still slay in park
 
maybe jon wants the more commercialized names, where candide wants the more up and coming/french/younger skiers. i dunno?
 
personally i'd like to see back country icons any day over most of the park rats. most people would say pollard over say jon olssen. yes. but even dan treadway or seth morrison over tanner or dumont. they would have sooo much more to say
 
jon won because he bought everyone out. Who would be opposed to a weekend where you can do whatever you want on jon's tab.
 
really the only skier you need at the candide invite is candide. he might as well just do it by himself.
 
I like candide better. Jon is kinda an asswhole from what  I ssaw at PC, maybe a nice guy. Candide invite looks soooo much sickter anywho. Jons is siiick though I dunno,, actually hard to say.
 
next time you want to sound authoritative on the subject of a skier, try spelling his name right to start with
 
swedish blondes vs. french prostitutes, i think i could take my pick. But in all reality Candide is the better skier, he just doesnt host the better event.
 
Seems like a bad idea to have them on the same weekend, it might draw some attention away from each other. Maybe that was the idea tho.
 
how hard would it have been for the organizers of these event to phone each other up and work out other possible weekends

this really sucks, candide and jon are my two favourite skiers.

i think that candides event is better for up and comers to destroy giant features, and jon's is more of a pro jam.

i hope both events blow up.
 
candide will still have some sick people, like justin dorey and other theory-3 guys, just jon gets most of the big names. who knows, maybe deusaneux shows up to the candide.
 
the thing about the date about the candide it's like from the begining of his event it was always on the first week end of april.

but the thing for jon i don't know but there is one thing i'm pretty sure is that jon doesn't want his event at the same time as the one of candide. but it's more like a problem of the schedule of the resort or may be the sponsors.

the differences between the two events it's one is a comp on the best jump ever and the other one it's just a fotoshoot on the best backcountry set up you will ever dream

that's it, there is non comparaison between those 2 events
 
yea sucks they couldn't figure out some way to have them on different weekends or something. they are both sick comps though, very different for sure. in my opinion, candide's is sicker, there are more features, sick ass rails/boxes, and usually some insanley huge booter or stepup or something. plus candide is there, its automatically gonna be sick.
 
Jon's is definitely going to get more coverage, but from what I saw in footage from last year, I think I like the setup at Candide's more - his jump just seems so much bigger than Jon's because it is more of a step down...
 
dude that would be awesome.

I like candides feutures better cuz there are more of em and so huge and crazy. like the triple kink trap box gap thing and not to mention the step up.

but Jon has all the riders

next time they gotta plan better and make it like a tour thing. they could call it the J/C tour or somethin idk

cant wait to see the footage tho Candide and Jon are so talented
 
any news on the candide invite? we've all seen vids of jon's comp which has been badass. now i want to see what's been going down in france. skipass is usually on it, but i haven't seen any coverage, and i'm impatient.

 
Candide has the better event, but he doesn't treat everyone like they're kings or have any prize money. Which is the difference well that and he has the sickest set up i've ever seen some amazing stuff goes down at candides invite along with jons
 
That jump is crazy. I'd way rather hit the JOI jump than that. Jon's jump is perfect, you probably get more airtime than on that and you can probably do way more stylie tricks on it cause you aren't flying 100mph straight out. Still I can't wait to see footage from candide invitational
