Candide 2.0 edge thickness/durability?

would much rather get the 2.0 than the 1.0, but I ski 90% in the park and I noticed that the 2.0 only has a 1.8mm edge??? a bit surprised, I've had lots of trouble with edges in the past, so I was wondering if anyone has experienced problems with this ski.

and a more general question- how directly does edge thickness correlate with edge durability?

There definitely is a connection between edge size and edge durability. I have CT 2.0s that have a couple edge cracks in em. Not sure what the difference in edge size between the 1.0 and the 2.0 is but i think if it is a huge difference and you don't really mind switching go for it. It will really just come down to which ski you prefer though, so you may want the 2.0 and get that but have some issues with edges. Remember that pretty much any ski will have edge cracks if not properly maintained, so whichever ski you get remember to use a gummy stone to deburr every day

Obviously the edge thickness has something to do with edge durability but you will be fine with the 2.0 . 1.8mm is pretty thin but, they last really well. I was able to ski on one pair for about a season skiing fairly hard.

Haha, you must ski super easy because three of my good friends have slaughter those 2.0's and 1.0's, including putting 7 edge cracks on them the very first day, at keystone. Good luck buying those...

7 edge cracks is absurd and yoU CANT blame the ski for them, or atleast for all 7. some responsibility goes to the skier too, he probably didnt detune his edges, and must have had bad luck or something because thats unheard of and isn't like a trend. One experience doesn't determine the overall durability, but 7 edge cracks in a day is really odd. the 1.0 has 2.2?mm thickness so they are paper thin.

this is either bs or they should certainly talk to faction about defects because 7 in one day definitely doesn't seem right to me... Edge cracks are inevitable and will definitely happen with skis that only have 1.8mm edges. If you actually know what you're doing then detune the edges before you ride them and just put a gummy stone to them and keep them in good shape regularly it will be much harder for them to crack.

They got new skis from faction that night and proceeded to delame them. Lots of defects with factions this years, so you kids that call bs might need to start skiing hard and get off the internet and talking suit like you can actually ski. I will post some pic of 1.0s that delayed after two day same with a pair idioms that blew apart in a day, plus 2.0s that have 7 edges cracks from key. Later posers

Your comment there makes you seem like a jerk.

Then don't talk out your ass and you won't get called out on the internet. Learn about things called facts before basing your opinions on false info.

I didn't say anything about your skis also n your original jerky comment you told people to get off their computers, meanwhile you are on your computer to be on newschoolers so your kind of being a douche towards yourself which isn't good get more self confidence don't talk bad about ourself it will brighten your day, anyway because I know you must be working through something don't be a douche and have a nice day.

For what's it worth, my CT 3.0's are pretty damn delicate. I've done a season's worth of damage in just a few days. Major top sheet chipping. Edges seem fine so far but it makes me skeptical.
