Candide 1.0 vs. Soul Rider

What's up guys. I'm really in between whether I should get the 2015 Faction Candide 1.0s or the 2015 Nordica Soul Riders. I want a ski that's fairly light and medium to stiff flex. The only big difference I know of between the two would be the waist width (90 on the Candides and 97 on the Soul Riders). Has anyone ridden these skis and if so how you feel about them? I'm 5'10 195 pounds and I ski mostly park and groomers. 80% rails 20% jumps, if that helps. Thanks.

im pretty sure the cnaidei would be a little lighter, but if you do a lot of rails i'd of with the nordicas for sure, the carbon fiber on the candide's doesn't hold up long if you hit rails quite a lot. if you're more a of abutter guy and hit mostly kickers and groomers, just jibbing around i'd go with the candide's, more buttery and they'll stomp kicker real well, more forgiving than the souls too

thanks for the feedback man...yeah I don't hit jumps a lot so I work on my rail game most of the time

I would say the Candide 2.0 is a more comparable ski to the Soul Rider than the 1.0. It has a 102 waist and is aimed at the wide park ski/all mountain type skier than the Soul Rider is. The 2.0 might be my favourite ski ever but will ignore that for now since you asked about others.

The new 1.0 is built to be extremely durable, it's a pretty burly ski. Bigger edges and thicker bases than the Soul Rider (and the 2.0). It's a medium flex but with a good amount of camber underfoot making it pretty poppy. Faction's are also the best made ski I've ever ridden (disclaimer I've not skied ON3P because I'm in europe).

The Soul Rider is fun, I've not owned them but I've tried them out. They are also a mid flex ski until broken in but have more rocker, especially in the tail, than the 1.0. They aren't as responsive (due to width) or as solid (due to more rocker) on groomed as the 1.0. They are however surfier and slightly more buttery. They are fundamentally a different type of ski though, more in the Al Dente, Candide 2.0, Line Blend etc mold.

If you are just riding park/groomers and rails and you don't have a preference for a 'wide' ski then get the 1.0. If you do want a wider ski, compare the 2.0 and Soul Rider.

i'd say the faction prodigy(98mm), or the 2.0(102mm) would be more comprable to the soul riders. I have a pair of prodigy's that i really like, they're pretty durable too! then again, im getting the soul riders this season b/c of the price
