Canada to Legalize Marijuana in spring 2017

so my grade 10 civics is a little rusty

does this mean they're gonna put it up for discussion in the house or actually just legalize it?
 
With it being 4/20 today, I can't tell if this is a joke or not. If not, that's pretty cool for Canada.
 
Good for Canada, just another reason to move there if Trump or Hillary become president. America needs to lift the shit off of Marijuana and get with the times, heroin is 10x worse than pot in America right now.

Oh yeah especially here in NH where people are OD'ing on it very often, meanwhile cops are still making a huge deal about getting a 1 pumce bust of pot. But it's ok our governor thinks decriminalization isn't safe for the youth. If only Bernie had a bigger chance....

and how many of those ods came from people being unsure of the purity? legal heroin wouldn't secretly have a big dose of fentanyl in it.

i would even go as far as to say that if you are able to use it in a responsible way, heroin is safer than alcohol.

if someone wants to get high, they're going to find a way to do it. laws don't do shit to dissuade people from taking drugs.

also, drug education is very important. not anti drug propaganda like dare however. in no way should we encourage people to take drugs, but they should know the truth about them. programs like dare don't do anything to educate people about harm reduction.

there is no perfect solution for how society should deal with drugs, but it is quite clear that prohibition is not working.
 
When there are issues like this seen as major problems in politics in 2016, thats how you know its all a fucking joke.

Politicians in the US tiptoe around or ignore it. Anyone who doesn't want to end the drug war is pretty misinformed at best.

Idk, its hard to take politics seriously when there are bullshit laws everywhere that we dont change simply because "thats the way its been".

People talk about progress and how far we've come but its bullshit. If we're putting people in jail for what they choose to ingest om their own time, well thats a fucking problem.

That said as easy as it is to see, a bunch of ignorant americans will help to keep the bullshit train rolling.

Lets keep helping gangs buy weapons, keep the cartels in power and let some seriously fucked up shit happen in these countries because of our drug war. Lets watch people OD, ruin peoples lives by putting them in jail, and continue this illogical idea that somehow after all these decades of total failure, the drug war will suddenly start working.

If we're going to legislate bullshit morality lets put everyone in jail for masturbating or showing up late to church. That's how progressive the drug war is.

Nothing will change because everybody is an ignorant douche. In 15 ish years weed will get legalized or be close to getting legalized in some way across the board in tbe states. All other drugs will remain illegal because being morons sounds like a good way to live. Also the main thing helping to legalize weed is the $ not even how ridiculous it is that it was ever made illegal.

Could you explain to me why you would say heroin is as safe as alcohol? I'm actually curious since its a huge topic in my state.
