Can YOU see mars?

so apparently we're able to see mars tonight or something.i was expecting it to be awesome and look a lot bigger but it's just a bright star to the right of the moon.i'm probably wrong but i'm very misinformed..does anyone else know what i'm talking about though?
 
yup. usually its just a red looking dot in the sky, not too exiting but still pretty cool. If you have a telescope its obviously a little bit cooler to be able to really look at it, but whatever. Just look for a redish dot if you're outside tonight.
 
you obviously failed to acknowledge that i had no idea what i'm talking about to begin with and that i made this thread so that i would be more informed.

hahahahaha. at least you're honest.to tell the truth i was kind of skeptical about it when i heard that it was supposed to be as big as the moon cause that didn't make sense to me, but i thought "hey, that would be cool though" so i decided to believe it..hahaha i know i've made myself look like an idiot. you don't have to make that clear to me.
 
To respond to the OP:

As someone pointed out earlier, the whole big/bright Mars thing is a hoax that started a few years ago, it goes around every summer. It's funny that it went around when it did this year (at least for us North Americans) as Mars is setting/set by the time night rolls around. If you are looking outside right now and see a bright 'star' by the moon it is probably Jupiter you are looking at as it is the only visible planet out at night right now for North Americans.

Usually being as dumb as a lamppost leads to things like a career in construction or a meth habit. I don't think you're smart enough for either by the looks of you though.
 
oh well fortunately i won't have to worry about that because i'm going to be a trophy wife or a cat lady. maybe both if i'm lucky.

Tetanus shot wasn't that bad...It was kind of hard to play basketball afterward though.

But yeah it was on a board, and it went right through my foot...luckily I didn't get anything from it but it hurt like a bitch and was really hard to walk, obviously.
