Can you get out of epic pass after $50 down payment?

Hey NS. So in April I did the $50 down payment on the Epic Local Pass (I am from the east coast) thinking I was going to go out with my boy over our christmas break. But he just had ACL surgery so thats a no go.

So, is it possible to cancel the pass so they don't whack my credit card for the additional $500 next week. I called and spoke with some sales rep an he said no, but I do not put any faith in that statement. If I can, who should I speak with and what do I need to say?

Thanks NS.

And fuck Vail Corp

all vail employees are people they captuered after they tried to cancel their pass. Good luck op, but you are about to be selling $15 burgers

I think canceling the credit card is the best options. Then they will bill me and I will not pay and get banned from Vail. sounds solid

Except when vail eventually buys all the snow in the world, then you will be fucked

if you signed a contract, which you probably did, you're probably fucked.

It seems like that defeats the purpose of a down payment. I feel like a lot of things in that situation you just forfeit you initial money.

I mean everything is set up differently but I feel like having something where if you bounce you're loosing loot, but not totally fucked would encourage more people to take a stab at it.

I mean is it a 50 down payment and then a lump 500? That seems like a pretty ridiculous payment plan imo

If you cancel your cc card they can go after you with a collection agency. It will still affect your credit score. Sorry but you still are fucked.

I have some interesting information as an update. If you have a serious injury you can cancel. They handle it through some outside claim agency. I literally just had my doc fill out the form, but I was told by vail i should be straight.

I'll go with you

If you buy pass insurance you can get a refund if you get injured.. OP should have just bought it and asked for a refund

Well I cancelled my CC and got a new one already. Lets see what happens.

Any update what happened after you canceled your cc? I know this post is old but I'm desperate to get out of this final payment due because of auto renewal. I lost my job this summer and can't afford to pay $1000 for 2 passes. Any help or advice on how your situation turned out would be appreciated.

jump out of a 2nd story window to become injured, then get a doctors note, then there is a clause in the agreement that says upon serious injury the pass can be canceled. For the record I made most of that bullshit up just now based on really old responses.

What's up people! I've been stressing over this issue the past couple of days after receiving the threatening email as well. I'm here to set the record straight: NO NEED TO WORRY! Just got off the horn with Vail and they specifically told me they will not pursue this any further than just emails so there's no need to worry. Apparently they are not as bad as we think lol. Your $50 is gone, but that's it
