Consider yourself pretty handy in the kitchen? Post a favourite recipe for something that you might use to impress a girlfriend/boyfriend/parent/ski lodge member.

When he says ski lodge member he means like a communal hostel member, not your run of the mill ski lodge you eat in.

But really, I make a mean penne alla carbonara. Probs my favorite dish.

one of my peeves-when people post pictures of what they cook on facebook...

cool you made chicken-parm and have an instagram, so can a handicap 5 year old

Make some tartiflette. It's a casserole basically so it's easy as shit. Taters, bacon, cream, funky cheese, white wine. Classic european ski hut dish. Got the recipe from I Am Mod on here and made it. it's fuckin fantastic and super easy. Just a little tough finding the cheese.

Hey OP, check out this sick 10 page thread all about what NSers are cooking

https://www.newschoolers.com/ns/forums/readthread/thread_id/674131/

There are tons of ideas and recipes.

Take 5 eggs and whip them up, add a little milk. Put them in pan and cook scambled eggs. While they are cooking add 2 slices of extra sharp cheddar and 3 strips of torn up bacon. Add ranch powder flavoring.=heaven

Im a pretty decent cook. I love being in an apartment over the dorms so I can cook. Probably my best meal I made last week was salmon filets seasoned with salt and pepper flakes, cooked in olive oil and garlic with asparagus spears. Then in a seperate pan I made a sauce with sriracha, cream, garlic, portobello mushrooms and onions. After a while of letting the sauce cook and getting the flavor from the mushrooms i pulled the mushrooms out, finished off sauteeing them with the salmon and asparagus in the olive oil and garlic. Plated the salmon, asparagus, and mushrooms, put the sauce over top, and it equaled a kick ass, wonderful blend of flavors.

Yeah, I like to cook.

Threads for possible multiple contributions. Im a student/part time chef and full time chef during summer and have a number of tasty food which can be made on a student budget. I am eventually planning on starting a blog but this could be a start when i get round to documenting my recipes

I'm the best cook in NSG.

But seriously, I worked for two years as a cook in a restaurant, so I know what's up. And I like cooking as well. Can pretty much make anything I want. One of the few things I don't suck at really...

eh i tend to think my food is good but most will think it's boring. most dinners consist of a combination of the following

(baked/grilled/pan fried) seasoned piece of meat

(boiled/sauteed/roasted) vegetable(s)

optional: sweet potato (baked/fries/chips)

i no longer ever have to look up how to cook anything though. to me that translates as "i can cook"

One of my favorite dish! But you need to use onions and the cheese has to be reblochon, but I don't know if you can find some outside of France though.

Also a raclette is super easy, there's no preparation at all, you just need to gather the ingredients, and it's awesome.

oh you mean like this?

this is a pan-fried lemon chicken, jalapeño relish, and sweetcorn and spring onion mash dish i made. normally i'm against instagram but i did it especially for my friend who made some argument about that instagram'd food looks better

yeah kinda, instagram throws all the colour balance off and it comes out looking like shit. i cant find the regular but it looks alot more natural and less dog vommity.

I was drunk when I made this last night. Sorry to those who have correctly pointed out that there is already a thread about this.
