Can we change the splash page to Sarah?

just came here to post this. In honor of her, and what shes done for female newschool skiing, it would be the least we could do as a community to support her, her family, and her friends
 
hopefully people's voting will make it so very soon, but imo the admins should just manually put her picture up for at least a few days
 
It should be like this whenever a huge name dies. Kinda like how us Americans fly our flags at half-mast whenever an important figure dies.
 
yeah exactly. i can't really remember but i think they (the admins) have been pretty on top of it each time. the admins of this site really do a great job, i need to send them some booze money or something i havent donated in forever

Yeah, it's also because as soon as somebody dies a great pic of them normally gets put up and rated 10/10 anyway, and I saw Malcolm commented on them making sure it would happen.
 
The system was designed so that users have complete control over what makes the front page. I think It just goes to show how awesome our community is that we don't need admins choosing the photos anymore. Unfortunately the two pictures of Sarah that were also top rated couldn't become photo of the day because of our 1000 pixel restriction so I uploaded one myself.
 
Exactly, and i def forgot to mention how good the community's general responses have been

nice move on the pic malcolm (dwarftosser too), you're def one of the people im talking about when i praise the admins etc of this site
 
We're democratizing content on Newschoolers. We fully believe that the people can better choose what should be promoted than our staff.

The photo restriction is because we need the photos on the splash page to be a certain size to look good. So that is why it is in place... there's a bunch of criteria in there for this.

It is absolutely rad that Sarah got up there, and I agree it is a testament to how awesome and respectful people are around here.

Now, what would be REALLY awesome is more pictures of Sarah that are 1,000px wide, so we can keep this rally of support going for a few days!
