Can most people even physically do an octograb?

I was riding the chairlift the other day and it took the whole ride to stretch and maneuver my body to even grab my skis in that manner, and that's sitting down. I know Gus Kenworthy said in his instabanger vid that he couldn't do a venom grab, which is the same concept.

Idk if thats accurate though, i can do a lot of grabs in the air i cant work out on a chairlift. When youre going off a jump its more off a quick and violent motion to get the grab, it stretches you out quick. on the lift its like your actually do a stretch, way harder

Ya id be way harder on a chairlift. Try them on a 3 off a big jump. They are pretty fun and easy if you can comfortably bring your skis knees up to reach it.

I can see that. But even shadowing it right now is difficult. I also guess the fact that it took me that long to do would make it impossible to learn in the 2 seconds of airtime i may get off of a big jump.

lol me and my friends do octos, blunts, and tail grabs all day on the lift. its not that hard, maybe just work on your stretching

"I'm not very stretchable and I don't want to have to stretch so I can ski. You're telling me that to do the cool grabs now I need to stretch to reach my skis?"

how the fuck do you do an octograb on the chairlift without unloading waaay before you intended to?

if youre on the right side of the chair, you wrap your right arm around the bar so you dont fall off. so basically the vertical bar is in your armpit and you reach down and nail them grabs. same goes for left side. and if youre in the middle well....just dont fall off

Lay on your back and try it, waaaay easier than on the chair. When youre sitting on the chair its going to limit your flexibility. I can get octos on a hit or miss basis in the air, but I cant do them for the life of me on a chairlift. So as I said, try it laying on your back
