Can I take my boots as a carry on on a plane?

I'm packing up my stuff and i realized my boots won't fit in my bag. I checked the airline's website and couldn't find anything. Just wondering if anyone knows wether or not I can bring my boots as a carry on.Also, I'm flying on Alaska Airlines in case that matters.

I've done it on Air Canada and West Jet. I've had other friends walk through security wearing all their ski gear to save room

make sure you drape a ton of small electrical wires over them, and maybe a small flashing red light too so people can see them easier. a countdown clock to your arrival time can be fun too

If you are willing to get a boot bag, most airlines count a boot bag and ski bag as 1 checked item.
