Can I swap in a wide break?

I have some Salomon 710 or 810 (can't remember) bindings on my current skis (Atomic E:5 - 72mm underfoot).

I'm wondering if I can swap in a wider break so that these bindings would fit the Rossignol Scratch Sprayer BCs (88mm underfoot) that I'm thinking about getting.

Or should I be looking into new bindings?

Ok, didn't think of that. Any problems with that method? Is there any reason for me to be looking for a different binding?

If you have a salomon 710, then it would be wise to get a new set of bindings. The 810 is alright, but defintiely not as good as some other bindings that are available.

yea, good point here.

i woud say that u should just get some noew bindings. there are some p10s on here for 100, or s810's for 50.

yea i got my breaks stretched out and now they really uneven and one certain ski has to go on top of the other wenever i put them together, its no big deal but im not telling youthat you should stretch them out, do whatever floats your boat

aah, might as well explain:

The 710 binding has a quadrax toepiece, which means there's no adjusting of the wings or the toe clearance height. It also means that the toepiece only has 3 screws holding it down.

I haven't seen any problems with bindings ripping out with the quadrax toepieces, but logic says that 4 screws hold better than 3.

The 810 is a great binding, but a light duty one at that. It holds up really well considering how much it costs, but if you have the option of picking up some Look P10s for $100, then you just may want to consider a new set.

i stretched mine out and i believe this is why it broke off...I think it bent the entire piece under the may part of the brake which i think loosened it or something. took a hard fall and it bent the spring lever that pops it up when you clip out and broke the brake off....So if you bend it be careful how you do it
