If you have some line sir Francis bacons can you please pm i have some questions regarding your opinion on the ski

Hands down my favorite ski ever. They fucking rip everywhere, pow and groomers. Durability is shit though. Mine are falling apart, delaming in tip and tail, never seen a rail and Line won't do anything about it. Only thing keeping me from getting another pair or reccomending them again. I'm super bummed.

wow, that's too bad. mine have have held up really well lapping a 200ft hill w rope tow for hours.

that's weird line isn't hooking you up, especially something like a delamination. they've been super helpful w warranty stuff for me in the past.

yeah I'm kind of bummed, especially since they've never been in the park.

I have been forwarded the conversation between you and our Midwest sales rep. I can tell you that based off of the photos of your skis, it certainly doesn’t look like a MFG defect. However we will consider them for warranty review. You need to take the skis back to whatever shop is closest to you and explain to them that you would like the skis sent back for review. Regardless of the opinion of the shops owner, you should be provided with this service, at your own expense. Shipping costs should be charged to you, by the shop. This is standard warranty procedure.

The skis will be sent back and reviewed by our warranty department. If they are determined to be defective, we will take care of you as necessary. If not, we will send them back to the shop.

If the shop owner has any questions he can contact me directly at the extension number provided below.

Thank You

Dan

Ya I live out west and I ski little to no park so I was wondering if this is really capable as being a one ski quiver or should I go with the smaller blend

^ what issue do you have with that service. That's pretty standard for any companies warranty process. If you got the skis from a shop in the first place then take them there an they should send them for free.

I live in a spot where there is only Line shop, where I didn't buy the skis, and he won't warranty them because of that. The fact is that they are delaming for no reason where my Volkls and Icelantics I've had for longer and have had the same amount of use are holding up fine.

^if you pay for the shipping they will send them away for you. Honestly that is totally standard policy for any brand, it's one of the many reasons its better to but local.

In terms of why they delamed it could be down to so many things. Perhaps there is a default. Or maybe you just caught them on something just enough to open up a layer. Totally possible on any ski it just happens some times. I have delamed skis in as little as 2 hours then once they were replaced with the exact same ski they have held up fine.

Line are offering to look at your skis you just need to pay to get them back to them. I'm sure if you get an RA number you could jut send them back yourself but if they credit the ski you will still new to go through a shop.

I have no problem with paying the shipping, I understand that is standard procedure.

The shop literally said they won't send them in because he didn't make any money off of it and he has no potential to. Line won't give customers RA #'s, believe me I've called and emailed. I'm half tempted to just send them to Line/K2 with a tracking number and a nice letter inside.

Just do it if you get them to line they will get sorted.

Honestly though this I why you buy skis in a shop. Buy from that dick of a shop owner and you are not in this position

I work at a shop for one, we just don't carry K2 so I can't warranty them. And I do order all my equipment though the shop.

My exgirlfriend got these for me as a gift last Christmas at the shop that she worked at, which is downstate. It's a really fucky situation

Just to add though If line see this I would expect them to be a little pissed. You implied that they would not help you out with a warranty, when its just infact you did not get them from a shop so your having a hard time sending them back. You have been here a while so know how comments quickly turn into fact on this site

But she did have to pay full price because she got them around Christmas. Prodeals were gone and the shop was not about to sell the ski at cost during holiday season

Just clarifying

Yes you have explained now, but only after I asked about it. Just think in future how your posts look to kids who take stuff on here as gospel.

And if she paid for the skis just pay to have them sent to that shop and they will have no issue sending them away for you.

Any way good luck, I hope you get them sorted

i'd say the bacons are much more of a do it all ski than the blends. don't be scared of the width. they do well in the trees as well.

All you need to do is contact the shop you originally bought them through. They can send them back for you or they can at least get you an RA# and explain to you what paperwork and information needs to be included. You have to remember the warehouse they are going back to houses dozens of brands you do not want to just send them back with out an RA#. The local shop should realize that if you do get a new ski he does stand to profit because he should be charging for mounting and final adjusts not to mention you would probably go to him to have tune ups done. Sounds like a poor way of doing business and not a good way of getting you to go back into the store. You should have no problem getting an RA# if you send pics to the Line Dealer you originally bought them off as long as they are with in one year of purchase. I have 100 days on my Bacons and ski hard in the woods and have had no issues. Sometimes you just hit something wrong though and things do happen. Most places will just ask you to send them a picture first, if there is obvious impact some shops will not want to send it back, but most will charge you about $20 if you send it back to them to help cover some of the shipping. If Line does not warranty the ski they will charge you for shipping back. If they cover it they will ship it back to the shop that did the warranty they will not ship it back to the customer directly so you will have to pay some shipping.

Does anyone know how they do in park? I was looking at them too but I'm still going to be doing a little park.

this is my exact situation too... except i dont live around a place that has a decent ski shop. I have learned to order through backcountry because they will always take returns, then i dont have to deal with the run around i have always gotten.

LINE started it all with their combination of early rise "rocker" and early taper in the ski. The idea of the ski was born to ski anywhere on the mountain very effectively. The combination of early rise lets me get float where i need it and the early taper allow for control on groomers at a wider width construction for 108mm waisted ski. I ski these as an everyday ski in Colorado, from groomers, to steeps, to touring, to park. They are the best ski I have ever ridden. period.
