Campus Spots to See U of Utah

Visiting this coming weekend so no official campus tours but curious if any alumni or current students have places on campus they recommend that I check out.

Drive around the 2 mile radius surrounding the campus to look at areas you like and noting them on a map. Your best bet is to live in a house with 2 or 3 other students (aiming for ~$600 to rent a room). Find a neighborhood that you can envision yourself doing that.

Some areas near the university are lovely. Some of them, like by the Smiths Ballpark, have crackhead issues that would be a fatal mistake to rent a place unseen.

If you don't live in a crappy dwelling with some local crackhead in the neighborhood whilst in school what is the point. If you can save $100/month on rent as a student that's huge and worth living in a crappy area as long as it's well located.

Tbh the ballpark district isn't even that bad. Ton of new yuppie apartments are getting built over there

Check out the student life center, the library, the HC (heritage center) and the dorms, and the buildings of whatever department(s) you think you'll be in. Student union would be good to check out too. Maybe take a walk up on the bonneville shoreline trail or hike the living room even tho the views will probably be nice and smoggy ?. The natural history museum and red butte gardens are worth a visit as well if you have extra time

i’ve been here 11 years now and i’ve just never really gotten into xwives. when I used to go out a lot we always just went downtown. nothin against the place, I just never went much. I do like it though
