Hey all.

So summer is here and the camps are getting started soon. I'm trying to work out if there is any demand for ski/ boot work needing doing. I'm going to be living in whistler again this summer and will be helping out a few of the coaches but I thought I would open it up to all you guys.

I always see people complaining they can't get to a boot fitter well I would like to offer my services to you guys. Is this somthing some of you may be interested in. I would try to offer cheaper rates for campers but I would really just like to offer my services to a many ns members as possible.

Let me know if this is somthing you guys may be interested in.

Damn, that's rad! I'm going to have to take you up on that offer.

Sounds good man. I'd love to help as many of you guys as possible. The more deman here hopefully the better deals and services I can offer you all.

well i don't need any work done, but I've gotta say its kind of a pain in this town getting any ski work done once biking has started. i just wanted to get a base grind, i don't think it was even may at that point, still a full month of the winter season left and a month of the glacier. everywhere except tmc were like "oh sorry we're done with skiing for the year".....fuckin mountain bikers

Yeah unfortunately that is how whistler goes. That is why I want to offer my services up to you guys. Even simple things like new brakes or a quick remount. Hit me up if you guys need anything.

Are you at a shop or do you have your own in-house solution?

Either is rad.

I'm still working on exactly where I am going to be working out of. I'm hoping to be working out of the pro lab next to the Dublin gate. That is a really cool space and it's where I used to work out of. I should know for sure by the weekend hopefully and I'll keep you guys posted.

My boots are 2 seasons and 2 summers old, going into third summer and especially in summer they start to smell brutal

Trust me I bet I have smelled worse. We get all sorts in the shop and I swear some are actually dangerous to your health especially if we have to heat the liners up, haha. But there are a few tricks which if nothing else you can use on new boots.

This is awesome! You are the man dude!

I have a crack in my shell under the bottom buckle (which is also broken) and my liner is wearing through so my heel rubs against the inside of the shell. Got the boots second hand 2 seasons ago so i really just want them to get me through this summer and then ill get a new pair next season. Think you could help me out?

^sounds like they are pretty beat but I like a challenge. Bring them in and I'll take a look. We should be able to at least get them to last the summer.

I hopefully will know where I'm working by the start of next week so keep checking this thread and I'll keep you posted.

Sweet!

One thing is for sure, we should hit a few beers when I'm in town at the start of July.

I've worked with tom and he is the best boot fitter/ ski tech I know and all round a top guy. I would fully recommend his services.

Yeah i wouldn't mind a couple things being looked at, and having a few questions answered for sure. Been a couple years... And during glacier season when its super hot my feet seem to expand and get crazy painful boot pain this time of year.

That is the WORST. I remember how much of an issue this always was back in my digging days.

Building a park you can be in boots for like 18 hours straight shovelling and sweating your bag off.

Horrible.

I'm stoked with this reaction guys. Hopefully it should help me be able to get some good deals for you guys. I was thinking maybe of cheap cheap overnight waxes too maybe?

Well I'm off to the airport now next stop whistler.

No problem man. There certainly are a few things I can show you to potentially inprove your summer comfort.

Where are you and coxy heading?

properly fernie. but if i get a good job offer in Vancouver or calgery i'll take it then operate out of the citys. but what ever happens we want to do as any road trips and weekend trips around the powder highway and try and get to whistler as some point too.

ahh if I could get out to whistler, I'd definitely be down for this. I've been having a few problems with my boots

To keep you guys updated I strung lining with getting a shop to work out of. Annoyingly even though there are boot fitting shops sat empty they will not let me work out of them because of insurance issues. I'm trying to work somthing out and hopefully we can get somthing going. I'll be really pissed if I can't work somthing out as it seems really stupid to me that the shops are just sat empty when I could be working out of them.
