Yea so I'm goin surfing at the crack of dawn on the 4th and i'm trying to figure out where to camp on the beach in Santa Cruz, CA..... and it seems that the only places to camp are state parks... and the camp sites there are booked til december.....

Anyone know any good camp spots on the beach in Santa cruz..... and where i cant get arrested for trespassing??

state beaches are the only ones that wont get you. but being the 4th, be ultra careful regardless.

sometimes you can sleep behind the little seawalls on capitola or other beaches with them but its a bit risky and not comfortable (as you will be squished against cement).

if the tide is low, though, the beaches connecting capitola and seacliff will be exposed and unpatrolled for the most part. watch out for tide shifts though.

the beach patrol will be doing rounds up until 12:30ish, unless there are obvious disturbances like fireqworks, et cetera. try Seacliff beachpark and/or new brighton. none of the westside beaches will work out for you. the cement ship (in seacliff/rio del mar) usually has a TON of people camping out for the 4th.

sorry the waves are flat right now. i checked the surf yesterday and it was laughable. try up the coast a bit by 4mile. you can camp up there more too.

have fun! email me if you have any questions about SC, i live here.

yea i do this every summer. hard to get the camp sites. december is gonna be fucking freezing = more sharks. probably wanna think of something else to do, maybe cancun. the water seriously is so fucking cold. full body wet suits, ocean winds. if you sleep on the sand, watch out for high tide (which typically comes to the rocks) and sand fleas, which will eat you to death. you need to get one of those sites, but they are hard to get. we book ours during the first week they're availible every year and luck out. so, change your vacation.

yea i think we're gonna try to get a site on the beach on the 3rd and if that doesnt work out we'll prob pitch a tent in my friends backyard over there:)

do u have to make reservations on the state beaches?

but thanks, ur info was very usefull:)

heres what you do, my band teacher did this when he went to florda in grade 11.

just camp there on the beach, and when the police officers get you, just start speaking french to them. and they'll be like wtf. and leave you alone
