Campbell, oh Campbell.

thats so biased, your just all up on 4front because you get a pair of skis every year and suck sterbenz' cock. i guarantee they dont want to steal all of 4frnts riders. they already have a WAY doper team.

I dont want this thread to completely go off on a tangent, but 4frnt's team is definitely at least as good, and probably better than 9thward. The majority of 9th's pro team would be Ams on most companies teams. 4frnt has Eric Hjogjofdglkjf or whatever, who is possibly one of the top 10 most well rounded riders, Steele Spence, Luke Van-Valin, Vincent Dorion, Austin Ramaley, and so on

Hornbeck is my hero, even tho I have only seen him hit one jump, he is awesome, lol

I see it this way, Ninthward seems unchill. So I don't buy. They rep themselves up real good, like so much it is annoying. Ninth blows chunks. HAHA Come one Shane ski companies don't have hook ups in compton. I have more street cred then you.

not to be a dick, but this isnt the first or even second time ive heard sterbenz's truck got keyed in vegas by the 9 guys. the other 2 times i heard it on the mountain from 2 totally unconnected people.

The facts are that no buisness is out there to be your friend no matter what they tell you. Money makes the world go round and none of you are going to change that unless you go out, eat berries, and live in the fucking woods.

i tend to shy away from buisnesses with shady buisness practices and i find it funny i NEVER hear anything remotely as bad about any other ski companies as i do on NS.com about 9thward. I think kids buy into the hype a little too much and its probably being blown out of proportion a bit.

i guess they kind of had all this shit talking coming to them when they didn't pay NS and they proclaimed themselves as being badass or whatever. one my best friends hang out with a few of the ninthward guys and hes NEVER said a bad word about any of their riders being assholes or anything.

there's always two sides to every story kids

I wouldn't talk shit on 9th ward. Didn't you read that ski time article on them. Those guys are hardcore gangsters who carry guns. You might get capped fo' real.

9=park skiing=guns

DOPE

ne one notice how 9th wards controversial behaviors get them many large threads full of dabate drawing ppls attention maybe their scheme is workin...word of mouth is a pretty large marketing tool and the seem to be exploiting that quite well (even if they don't mean to) here on NS

9 doesn't want to steal any riders...and we get a long with 4frnt, fuck man, hornbecka nd i are HELLA good friends we ride all the time together, same with henrik lampert, andrew wickes, fuck man, hornbeck is like my favorite fuckign rider, shtis roof as fuck

you can add jermo and wiley miller to that list of 4frnt riders i'm good friends with, actually, add willis brown too...so taht makes up there whole rookie team! OH and shidasha and kunz are my friends. and austin

i gotta say, i HATE 4frnt.....negative on that one, shti i used to ride 170 MSP's

if you were talkin about the sterbenz bashin im with you, but no campbell. He made something for all of us to enjoy, i mean why would he make somethign so he would get bashed on? you guys are bein assholes for not supporting his work. And my tiny little nipples went to france. So stop bashin on him

i know that the ski industries right now are just a bunch of queers, and campbell knows that to, people got to stop being bitchs and taking it so serious, just go get wasted

So by supporting us you mean fucking people out of money who are important to the industry?

They've done it twice now... first with NS, and I heard a rumour they didn't pay one of their staff photographers.

Campbell really is just spraying shit, because if he supported the industry so much he'd pay his bills to the hardworking people.

Just once I'd like someone on ninthward to admit they've jacked people, instead of just pretending like they're such a great core company.

Yeah seriously... for all you ninthward riders in here, what's the deal with that?

Why are the guys who run the company doing shady shit in our small community?

Cosco? Care to enlighten us on what happened?

i think people are tearing him apart, because he's NOT improving the industry.

does anyone care that they screw people over? does that not matter? where i comefrom good people pay their debts and own up to mistakes

The level of converstion in here severly dipped when page 3 came around...this is getting too into 4frnt bias v. 9th biased. I think we're too off on a tangent now...

I think both side are right...

I mean we gotta, as community need to support ourselve in the sport, core companies are necessary if we want our sport to progress in the good way...He's totally right about that. But I think Ninthward isn't doing the right moves, like not paying ns,(maybie a photographer), I mean if they don't repect the most core compagny(ns.com),don't respect the people who lives from it,it doesn't respect there philosophy. So It would be just bullshit.

Personnaly I don't think it is it's just big mistakes. They Should accept it and excuse themself(personnaly that's the only reason I'm not 100% behind ninthward not doing what they are saying).Otherwise he's doing his job to rep the compagny, ninth isn't a clean cut compagny, it's his job to talk like that and create contreversy, that's why they have this attitude, it's not a clean compagny that you don't heard opinion about the real thing, look at armada you never see them talk officialy on the forums do you, like ninthward do,d-structure,jibji,liberty. Those are the real core compagny now, the only thing is that I don't think ninthward has put it back into us that much yet...(not paying ns,or sponsoring am comps is an example),but on the otherside they do nice stuff like bamboo core, now that's progressive...(didn't tried it tho).

I also agree with LilHorsey,we also need big ass corporate companies...to sponsor the big ass events, put shitload of money in R&D like salomon,k2,rossi does...I mean a lot of people bash on salomon, but they are mostly wrong core isn't the only way to go. Who here bought 1080s or rossi scratch,tm,etc for there 1st pair of skis? They are our public publicity, how can someone who wants half pipe in the olympics can hate on salomon, they are in the same basket.

Every part of our little community is important.Just take a look at skateboarding, that's the best example of a nice growth worlwide community.

Here in Canada we have local mags, local companies the cores ones, and then there is transworld, world industries, element over all that stuff.(I couldn't compare to any other sport).

And by The way Campbell and LilHorsey

continue to rock this world by true opinion like youres

all i have to say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, you are the slimest witted mother fucker i have ever read the writing of. you actually think its going to get you somewhere trying to hate on haters inc. those fools are the shit, make the dopest shit, and they have the illest riders, shit. you obviously just dont like cambell or else you wouldnt feel the need to mock him personally. otherwise you could just say ninethward has really shitty skis and post a picture of their skis broken in half, but no you thought it was a better idea to brand yourself a imbesile by trying to make a fool of someone who loves skiing more than you possibly could. Let me give you a little background so you can understand why cambell may be upset with the corporate america bullshit in such a small sport as skiing, cambell is from new orleans met up with homies in mammoth and decided he wanted to start a small ski company, thats some fuckin tough shit 99.99999% of people on here have not done or tried, throw him a fuckin bone for being from new orleans and starting one of the illest ski companies ever. It is fully understandable after what cambell has accomplished so far that he is dissappointed with people who have more money and more opportunity being less effecient than he is. you should disconnect yourself from the ski industry because you seriously lack the love for skiing obviously, and you are tearing down the only good that is left. live free or die bitch

evidence of that? ill show you why he is helping the industry, HE STARTED A FUCKING SKI COMPANY, and theres my evidence to my point aswell. if anyone on here has any idea how much hard work money and time goes into that they would show a little respect

ight one more just to shut everyone the fuck up and end this forum. campbell is the shit, he has an opinion and isnt afraid to show it 100% of the time even face to face with lil horsey which i couldnt imagine the same from lil horsey seeing the length and time and energy he/she put into that essay posted online, when im sure he/she could have probably called cambell but either your too scared to do that or you would rather publicly insult his company and his opinion to possibly hurt their sales seeing that newschoolers is basically an online magazine full of adds and marketing bullshit, all i have to say is who the fuck are you to tell him he's wrong with and opinion, and really who the fuck are you

marketing bullshit... wow 9th really does hate advertising.

So Campbell can write an editorial on his own company and readers cant respond to anything or theyre fighting free speech? Campbell has a right to talk shit about the industry exclusively i guess cause hes not part of it then ok.

speaking of pep, hes a pretty good skier.

by the way, props for ns, you guys are intelligent debaters,,

I agree with lil horsey..

you can't be saying that the big corporate companies aren't doing anything for the sport. I don't know much about the industry, ill admit it....

As far as asking input and actually talking to team riders about the equipment....

I currently ski for Salomon, on probably one of the lowest level teams. However, I have still have been asked to put input into new graphics (which i might add are soo ill), they've asked me what I like and don't like about product, and they actually listen to my input...

In no way am I trying to talk myself up and be like ohh, I ride for Salomon, nor am I trying to say Salomon is better than other companies. Im sure many other larger companies are doing the same thing. Its just the only company I actually have any knowledge about is Salomon, and, my main point is that they still take input from even the lowest level members of their team. Which, for being such a large company, I am still suprised they have done.

And as far sponsoring events... I can barely think of any larger scale event that I haven't seen a Salomon banner on the side of the run... Anyway, enough about Salomon, I used to think the same thing about big corrporate companies being bad...

Haha, this thread has hardly discussed CREAM directly at all... I guess it's just taken for granted that Cream is ill, so let's get to talking about the specifics of the content.

why is it every thread like this someone that likes ninthward goes like all gangstar on everyone? Theres obvious reason why people wouldn't like their practices, and starting a ski company is difficult, but its making it a good company that is hard.

EXAAAAAAAAAAACTLY, you can only burn So many bridges before its everyone vs 9, so in my opinion make money, before you start shitting on the people who do.

Firstly I would just like to express my disappointment at how quickly this thread went to hell, it had such promise.

Secondly I would like to ask, keeping in mind I have next to no first hand knowledge about the functioning of the ski industry, but from a layman’s point of view wouldn’t we be doing the industry a favor by simply buying the product we deemed to be best, rather than over intellectualizing and supporting “core” companies because they don’t manufacture race skis. If a race ski technology can be successfully integrated into a freestyle ski with positive results, why not do it. Having said that I will concede that sometimes it not a good thing, e.g. the TM’s edges.

In conclusion even I’m not quite sure what I’m arguing but I think I goes something along the lines of, why do people support “core” companies for simply being core? And deny the role major manufactures play.

The reason "core" companies should be supported over major corporations, first and foremost, is because more money goes back into the sport. When you buy from Big Company A, for instance, sooooo much money has to be paid out to cover expenses, and other products they make. When you support a Small Company B that sells only newschool skis, the only thing they'll be spending your money on, is more skis, which will progressively get better and better.

Smaller the company = less to manage = more dependant on the sport itself = more dedicated to the sport.

Without Salomon, Rossignol, Head, and Dynastar (BIG, EVIL, corporations), I really don't think any newschool events would have even started. Without major corporations, say goodbye to the Xgames, gravity games, US Open, pretty much ever event ever put on (except maybe YGO).

i didn't mean to directly hate on larger companies, i was just trying to say that when you support a smaller company, there's a greater chance that your dollars going to the sport you love. you can't deny that rossignol, head, dynastar, salomon don't have a kabillion other expenses as compared to smaller companies.

smaller companies have to have some love from consumers as well. look at skateboarding, if EVERY kid only bought Element decks and Transworld for instance, and nothing else, think about the lack of creativity and how impossible it would be to stay alive in that market. skateboarding itself would suffer, as skiing will unless we're a little open minded towards making purchases from more independant companies. that's all.

Ok, agreed. Personally, I own Line & Rossi skis. I know money I give to Line will be put back into our sport, but I also think Rossi is a cool company, even if they are huge.

I don't understand why we insist on separating ourselves from other forms of skiing. I mean when you really get down to it everyone is just doing what they find fun, and skiing, no matter if you ski park, big mountain, glades, race courses or even just cruising the groomers, they all have a lot more in common than they differ. And I think, and this is just me, that most people have or will try as many styles as they can.

well. that's another point entirely.

but there's a nice security when you know you're apart of something. especially when you're apart of something that's changing and growing so immensely and with so much force. if you asked the average newschooler skier, i'm pretty certain they'd say they're down with other types of skiing, but quite honestly newschool skiing has a way different vibe to it, it's a subculture in a subculture, of sorts.
