Camp of Campions Intern Contest

my friend entered this... but i do not understand how to support them. is there some central contest page where we vote, or is it just all the likes and plays and shares from everywhere on the internet?
 
I already entered. I probably won't win the internship but hopefully i win a prize. I think my entry was pretty good. Check it out
 
If you do not wish to partake on facebook, you can enter and participate directly on Newschoolers. They're the same contest, and everything counts toward the same goal.

 
I sent them my edit last night. Could somebody with access to facebook let me know if they've posted it yet. It's Jackson Days edit.
 
ok seriously i don't get this contest WHATSOEVER

they have a contest for a video intern whose job would be to film for the whole month

BUT the contest is only editing...

please tell me how this is going to work. what if the person who wins doesn't know how to film or doesn't even own a camera?

You can't just open up an editing program with no experience and make a banger edit. Obviously all of these people have some experience with filming, or else they would have no editing background.
 
i think you're both right and wrong

some people can just take their footage and practice practice practice and im sure some people can make a killer edit without basic experience filming. thats why there are two separate jobs in the real world
 
Hahaha, I enjoyed making Gus Kentworthy carry our ski gear from Wizard Chair to lower village. That contest was the best!
 
and making him put ns stickers all over staff housing then making him scrape em off haha, that was one hell of a summer.
 
The way I look at it is that (this could be totally wrong) at COC there are tons of different people filming, either actual filmers or people with cameras. They all dump the footage, and it's COC (including 'the intern') to put out edits with said footage...

Also, standardizing the footage is the easiest way to level the playing field, it's completely unrealistic to assume that everyone has the same access to the terrain and level of skiers that COC would have....

Basically hate all you want, whoever wins has the opportunity to secure their spot in Ski Media, definitely wish that photographers (INB4 Sklar) had contests like this.....
 
Oh, note that you have to wait until the voting phase starts to cast your vote. Then, it is important to vote/share.

Its drastically more fair to have voting start at the same time for everyone.
 
I've been following this contest really closely but I'm still unsure of how they are doing the voting/judging. Are they choosing winners but party basing it off of how many votes the edits get?
 
okay i get where you are coming from...

only problem is though, is that I would assume they are going to rely on this person to do a lot of work, and what if they do not? whether its just their ability isn't up to par or they have never really filmed park 6 hours a day for 1 month straight..
