ive bought everything for a little over 700 and have only ran 3 tapes through it.

it includes

3 batteries. a 10 hour,4 hour,2 hour

a battery charger

a camera bag

all the cables you need

2 lens telephoto and wide angle(although not the best)

and like 3 sony hd tapes.

id like to see around 600 for everything. hopefully

ive got a vx21 and i love it but it more than u spending when i was lookin on ebay for a cam i cam acrosse a vx1 and it was goin for 750 which is a pretty good deal the only thing is thought it doesnt come wit a view finder but the quality is still really good

good luck

VX1k does come with a viewfinder - it does NOT come with a LCD screen though. If it lacked a viewfinder as well then I guess it just blows.

I would recommend staying away from the VX1k - it's affordable and it has a handle, but 1) the quality pretty much sucks compared to whats out there now, 2) its over a decade old and they don't make parts for it anymore, and 3) you can buy much better with your money.

My recommendation? HV20/30/40. Save your money, get one of these, and learn to use it - then move up.

Thanks a lot guys

Could anyone tell me about the Canon GL1 or GL2 i heard good things about them and i just looked on ebay and they are like 500

Any Help?

GL2 - not a bad starter camera. Hit up JWenz, he's selling his.

Avoid the GL1 at all costs lol. No good.

Thanks for the help guys!

does anyone now anything about the Panasonic HDC-SD20K... seems pretty resonable

Please continue with the help guys, thanks!
