Hey guys, this just came up at my school an di have been thinking of upping my camera game lately (from basically nothing) talk me through this camera and give some advice. The only thing i know is that it is an SLR which is what i want, and 250$ seems like a steal compared to the prices ive been seeing lately, especially with a 100$ lense.

Thoughts?

Subject: For Sale - Canon EOS Rebel 450D Dig SLR Camera

I purchased this camera NEW in November 2008 and have only taken approximately 2,200 photos with it, thus the camera is in MINT CONDITION and has no scratches, nicks or issues. The camera is Silver in color.

The following items are included with the camera:

Canon EF-S 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 Lens

Two (2) batteries

Battery Charger

Original Wrist Strap

USB Cord

Asking $250 for everything.

Thats a pretty good deal. BH sells a similar kit for $350. I would check the lens for any scratches on both the front element and real element. I would also check out the mirror incide, to make sure that there isn't any dust. Also take a few test pictures with it and make sure it autofocuses well and that its burst function works.

This camera also will not shoot video without extra equipment and/or software. Just an FYI.

yea, i did know that, thanks. but iv been getting more into the film side of things i think, mostly just experimenting though. maybe like 60-40 or 70-30 film-photo

As good as 250 is I feel like you'll want to upgrade too soon, really depends on how serious you want to take it.

awesome, thanks guys. just what i needed to hear.

What would you suggest in that case then?

Ive been looking at the t2i... other suggestions/suggestions for glass?

not too defined, i can get cash help via parental birthday/christmas things if needed. im looking for quality without too much unrealistic expense

I mean, as most people would say, nice glass is what makes the image. Its better to buy nice lenses than an expensive camera. A t3i body is a great starter body. Video and photo capability obviously.

I believe, that for $110, every photographer who already doesn't own a fast fifty, should buy one of these.
