Camera+lens=im lost

i recently got into using video cameras, not for anything professional, just to fuck around with. i decided to just buy a cheap minidv i could mess around with and see if i really liked it and could eventually progress (seeing as college is next year). right now i have a sony dcr trv22. its pretty nice and has a bunch of features im still trying to get used to.

my friend told me i could put some lens' on it and i have some dough and time so i figured why not. i looked on the lens area or somethign and it says

1,7/3,3-33.

i checked ebay and (i think its 33mm o rosmethign) they don't really have any lens for that size. so i searched trv22 lens on froogle. 5 pages of lens. now i don't know which to get (i wanna try to grab fisheye and just a small teloscopic one). i can't really tell the difference between them. i mean i could just get the one thats like $24.45, but whats the difference between that and the one is that like $60, and then the one that is like $300? it also says itsl ike a 30mm lens but its compatible with the dcrtrv22. any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

you can get rings that will screw onto your camera and will have the correct thread size for the lens, you just need to get the right ring.

for lens... don't spend too much money on one, because, the optics on a 300$ lens will be better then the optics on your camera, and therefore render it useless to spend that much. when you get to higher end cameras, then you need to get an expensive lens because the optics on lower end lens are worse then that on your camera, and that is when you dish out 600$ for death lens.

for now, kenko or raynox... check em out

a kenko .43x wide angle is about 50$ CDN and it will be just fine for your camera. if you want to go a bit better, check out raynox mx3000 pro... you can widen it and make it a pretty nice fisheye.

so in conclusion, you need a step up ring quite possibly, tiffen is a company tha tmakes them

just buy one that fits your lens and screws on....get a wide angle before fisheye, and turn off the steadycam feature when filming wide-angle/fisheye or else the minor/somewhat noticable vignetting (black barrel surrounding the image) will wiggle and really be noticible.

because I like pooh.
