Camera Advice needed

sorry for an other camera thread but I have legit reasons for making this. I am looking for a camera in the 2,000 to 4,000$ price range. I have been looking a lot into the canon XL2 but it is pricy and I need other things to compare with. I am not ready to go into full HD but maybe into hdv. no this isnt to film skiing, so xl2 is not a problem size and weight wise. I just need other names that resemble the xl2 so I can go and actualy research those in more depth. thanks for the help... hopefully

Check out the panasonic DVX, The only reason i would ever use a XL2 is because it has interchangeable lenses.

Go HD. You won't regret it.
Cams to check out...HMC150, XHA1, and if you're buying used you could look at the HVX200. All of these are great filmmaking cameras. I'd suggest you stray away from the sony FX1000, Fx1, or FX7 just because they have limited audio capability.
For standard def, the only camera that's really worth the price is the DVX100B. The XL2 is great but it's just too expensive.
