Which is better, the Sony DCR-PC 1000 or the Canon Optura XI. I need to know ASAP since I found killer deals on both. It's only being used for skiing. They look about the same quality, but does one stand out more than the other? Thanks.

I haven't heard anything about the Sony but I have heard that the Canon Optura XI is siiiiick.

be careful of where you get video cameras online... you want to check resellerratings.com before you buy from any chops just to make sure you arent getting shafted

 
I was recently in the same situation, and i decided to buy the optura xi, and it was worth every penny. Although this camera is not a 3ccd, it is still sick, and provides an amazing picture. It works great and is well worth your money.

I definately went with a Panasonic, not the one you listed, but a similar one. Way cheaper and thanks for the input. On this online review website, the Panasonic got 2nd and the Sony Pc1000 got 3rd.

 
I think Samsung makes a pretty sick camera with a remote cam (you can use as a helmet cam) and it doesn't use tapes or anything, I don't know much about it but it looked cool and I think it's like $5-600. you should check it out
