Camcorder lens fitting

I think that I'm gonna buy an optura xi and I want to get a fisheye with it, but I do not know what size to get. Can anyone explain to me how to choose the right lens for a camera. Also whats the difference between a fisheye and wide angle lens? Thanks

fisheyes distort and bend the image, sort of like a bubble, and wide angle simply fits more in the shot, with no distortion. for the sizes i'm pretty sure it says the right size on the lens, or if you're looking online sometimes theres a list of models that the lens is compatable with.

well it depends on what kind of filming you want to do. close up action shots look really good with a fisheye, but wide angles let you zoom in and are better for farther away shots. also fisheyes are better for follow cams or most any trick that involves being close to the person and filming blind.

wide angles are much more versatile than fisheyes. if theres on thing i cant stand, its when kids just leave their fisheye on for every shot, it looks retarded. get a wide angle. on my optura 20 i have a kenko .5x wide angle and its perfect.

yeah I think the only fisheyes worth getting are the raynox mx3000, or the mkI or MKII

I live in a place far far away, where on occasion the telly tubbies will come to play....and that's when Ma gets out the shotgun. Damn critters climb in our gutter system all the time.
