Cam Caddie Scorpian

I think I would rather use a ski pole. That thing you posted might be a little steadier since the wait is below your hand but with a pole you can get much closer to the subject you're filming. Just concentrate on keeping it steady and they're usually pretty good. Also, it's not easy to mount a gopro to that scorpion thing

It's mounted on like a tripod. Also would I be better somehow weighting a ski pole below the camera?

i think you need to just tell your friends to quit filming like they have tourettes. i think this with a gopro would be just as bad, i feel like the gopro is way too light. i have no problems with a ski pole. just mount the gopro on the end where the basket goes and hold it by the handle. the whole point of having a pole is so that your arm/pole act as a suspension system to basically eliminate any shake. small movements get lost in the weight of the pole by your hand keeping gopro movements steady and fluid. you can't hold the pole like you would grab a cliff rock climbing without a harness either tho.

this think looks too big for a gopro but not heavy enough to reduce any shakiness in my opinion. and with a pole you can get way closer and actually get in the action like gopros were built for. just my $0.02

Personally I think that these are a waste of money. I made one with a better grip, locking system and more attachment spots with a old aluminum snow shovel handle, black spray paint, and some 1.5 inch pole foam! works great!
