i know people are gonna think theyre sly and original and comment first all the way down, but lets please try and be mature about this. i think this trend needs to stop. it accomplishes nothing, and serves absolutely no purpose. id rather see people posting nothing to get a +1 than this. anyone else get as annoyed as i do about this?

i'd have to agree.

calling first on videos, but mostly interviews/news articles that appear on the front page is just tradition. no need to stop it. for threads, im only down for calling first if in your mind, you hypothesize it being a long and epic thread.
 
ive gotten first in a news article once. its such an amazing feeling i just cant explain it
 
yeah people calling 1st on threads need to stop. it isnt that rare to come across a thread without any posts in it so i dont see the fun in claiming it. i can definately see and find it fun to post first in popular vids (such as chug life) and home page updates because so many people are trying to be first too. It's basically a competition to be first in the updates an vids but there's no one to compete with on the threads. just my 2 cents. im sorr if i didnt make and sence.
 
id even be ok if people were like "first, sick video, blah blah blah". i really just hate it when they just say first.
