Calling all skiers in the UK; come and ride at MK!

sup guys,

I want to see if I can increase the number of skiers that come and ride park in Milton Keynes Sno!zone on a Thursday and Friday night. These nights are mainly dominated my snowboarders and on the rare occasion that more skiers do turn up I've had some sweet sessions. The park is always super tight and well built; loads of decent rails and boxes for what ever level you are.

If I get enough interest I could possibly sort out some kind of discounted slope time.

Let me know guys!!

I went recently. Nothing but gas pipe/bibbys and boxes on the left (looking down the slope).

On the right hand side side, the "kicker" was almost a quarter pipe to a not much of a landing. The flat down rail had a quarter pipe for a kicker/get on.

Later on, the people I was riding with were made aware that the people that shaped the park for that evening have never seen or been on a park in a mountain resort.

Now I may berate on the Hemel indoor a lot, but MK is just a joke. At least at the Hemel indoor they know how to make kickers and the snow condition is miles better.

The left hand slope is always set up pretty easy with boxes and pipes as it's the rookie side.

There are also always a few pipes out on the harder side, but they are nearly always paired with different rails next to them. I have no idea when you came but since I've been riding, I have never seen just a pipe dfd and a jump.

The issue with the kicker is that due to the shopping centre being under the slope we have certain restrictions on the size and weigh of the amount of snow we can push so our options are fairly limited; which is one area I know Hemel has got the upper hand.

As for the shapers having never been on a mountain and park, I have no idea where you got your information form, most of the guys have all done several seasons. I help shape and can assure you I've been away on a mountain plenty of times and I've spend my fair share of time in the park.

I'm not saying we have the best park in the world, but I know the lads that shape it take pride every signal week and slog there guts out making it the best it can be.

More people need to read this! If you come down to session that you've heard about through newschoolers then I'll take pictures of you. Deal? I thought so. See you at MK!

I'm just up the road in Northampton so I might have to check this out if it means backing up fellow skiers.

I used to ski at Chill factore in Manchester as I'm originally from Stoke, there freestyle nights looked sick, so I'll definitely come check out MK see what its's like.

Send me your details and then you can let me know when you're going etc.

Matt.

Hey Matt, come down for sure man! Especially if you are only from Northampton! You got no excuse!

I've never been to the chill factor before so I'm not sure what the set up is like there but I'm sure you will enjoy MK!

Me and a few other guys ride every Thursday and Friday bar a few man so just let me know when you want to come down man and ill see if I can sort something out.

Hey, I was speaking to RWND and he said to get myself down. I'm skiing in Val Thorens on Saturday for the week but I want to maybe try and get down the week after.

I was looking on the website and realised its like £22 for the freestyle night, is that right? The set ups look decent, I've been looking at the plans for previous weeks and I like how it's changed every week.

When I'm back I'll let you boys know when I'll be down and we can sort something out.

Matt

hemels snow quality is so uch better

it doesn't matter if the snow is better or not, when take offs don't get iced in its only a matter of time (15minutes) before they all are fucked, which is what happens at hemel. and do you really think snow quality is THAT important, when most of the brits ski on plastic?!

After riding hemel a few times, I went to MK last Friday and one of the most fun session in ages. Everyone come! It was rad and the vibe was great.

Yeah i dont really see how one snowdome can be better than any, i ride cas and hemel mostly but MK looks good. I just spend my time closer to the other 2.
