California Storm

Yeah Lookout can be really dope. And since you need to take a poma lift to get over there, most gapers can't get up it. I do have some stashes though.

Homewood on a pow day is actually really fun.
All the lifts are extremely slow though, but it hardly gets crowded there.

hit the tree runs under the quad first... then hit trees off ellis... then trees everywhere else after that.

Trees galore there...

I forgot all about that poma. I'm sure that keeps everyone out. We have a T-Bar at my place which is rarely open, but it's fucking hilarious to watch the gapers try to sit down on it after the lifted just told them not too. It sucks in the long run because then they have to stop the lift and pick up the mangled gaper.

what weather service/website do you guys use?

www.wunderground.com and accuweather.com seem to be opposites of each other...lol

Read that traffic was a shit show today on 89 towards SV/AM in both directions. Tomorrow is going to be ridiculous.

Not even fucking you with this... took ONE HOUR to get from Tahoe City, to Squaw. I'm staying in the hostel next time this happens... that shit was BULL.

8-830.. somewhere in there... I'd leave at like 530-6 and go get some Z's in the parking lot (or jump in line if you catch good sleep)

so its prob gonna be the biggest bitch to get from bay area up to squaw/alpine?

Which would make a regular 3-3.5 hour drive a 5 hour drive?

I was planning on leaving 2moro morning.

extra hour onto my drive time to dodge ridge, so it was a bit tracked when i got there. still had a ton of fun though.

The exit in trucker was a shitshow when I got there at 9 Saturday morning, and we went around back on west river road. Took us 30 minutes to squaw. Were in tahoe city tonight, and will be leaving for squaw at roughly 7:05 (breakfast at the peppertrwe opens at 7, we are just gonna grab a bagel and GO). I'll report how it goes tomorrow...

Haha. That much longer? Took me an extra 30-40 minutes up to Sierra Summit and that was with having to put chains on way down at a low elevation. Got there in 1:40. Caught first chair and got first tracks pretty much everywhere I had hoped to. I did leave my house at 6:06 exactly and arrived at 7:46.

Backside vertical plus pretty good. We would ride that lift, go over to the top of Zephyr, and then ski towards the backside lift. Tons of fresh, good runs, with a kicker in the trees.

Haha, I was in that traffic too. Fucking blew. We thought there was an accident it took so long, The locals I was with said it was the busiest weekend they have seen in like 10 years. Such a good day though.

Homewood was fucking sick last week. I rode there Monday-Friday - no crowds, no wind (well, compared to alpine or squaw), and deep snow. It was awesome...
