California camping

Thinking about renting an RV and traveling the california coast and interior, maybe even oregon, What are the sights that should be seen.
 
Eastern Sierra, San simeon/Hearst castle, up through big sur to Monterey, 101/ 1 up the north coast- ferndale, shelter cove, lost coast, cut east around eureka? And drive by forks of salmon (kayak spot the sturges' own operate), into Etna and Scott's valley, and then over to my Shasta. Then up to ashland etc...

Could be dicey with a big rv tho.
 
I bought a minivan and outfitted it with bed and stuff. Going to be camping all over the western USA for 14 weeks, much of that in California.

Have about 1/2 the trip and sights and activities planned so far. Yosemite, Redwoods Joshua Tree, so many sites to see.
