Calabogie

Ah that sucks.

Anyways if you look at opening day pics for their park, you can see the hip transfer with the tree bonk, some jibs set up here and there, that rainbow C-rail, an urban-on handrail, and a couple of jumps. That was last month, so now their park is probably pretty good. I'll hopefully make a trip down this Sunday, but if not I'll definitely be there next Saturday, so I'll update you guys.

Girl, 11, killed in ski accident at Calabogie Peaks

Updated: Fri Feb. 05 2010 06:05:55

An 11-year-old girl on a school ski trip was killed Thursday when she

struck a tree while skiing at Calabogie Peaks Resort.

The girl was wearing a helmet and suffered critical injuries.

Although the child was treated by paramedics and airlifted to the

Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, she died of her injuries.

An official with the Upper Canada School Board says the little girl

attended Perth Elementary School.

Her name has not yet been released.

An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine the girl's exact cause of

death.

Ontario provincial police are investigating.

++ vibes to her family and friends

i was there today, you need a park pass, its 5$ and you need an adult signature

small hip/treebonk

5-10 foot table

nice flat down flat box

then another 15-20 foot step down

then you can hit a small kinda weak gap to up box

or hit a nice down rail or log cannon

then either a bonk

ride on cannon (very sketchy prob for snowboards only)

or narrow flat bar and badly set up rail stall

i would recommend not going, hit up something like edel or cascades or pakenham, anything

the park is only about 1/3 of a run, so lapping it takes a long time

Hey I was there today too! I agree with him though... Their park is kinda weak right now. Lots of features on the side of the run not setup yet, and like he said, some cannon rails which look like they were setup for boarders.

Also, were you the guy with the tall brownish coat?

Yeah really, who's setting up the park? There is stuff put all over the sides that aren't setup yet, and quite a few features were setup poorly. Also, the people standing at the top of the park "checking for your pass" are really just in the way... (no offense to any of you if u happen to be one of them, but most of them were boarders) they stand in the middle of that little opening into the park and give you very little room to get in... /rant

Wow that first jump is 25ft and the second ones are 35/20? Damn I thought they were a lot smaller... (closer to 20 for the first one and like 25/15 for the second ones). Or have they made the jumps bigger since about 2-3 weeks ago?

Hmm was down there again today - everything is now urban-on, and the first jump is shit, but the other two jumps are pretty decent. They removed the hitching post and replaced the blue rail with the rail they had for the hitching post, put in an urban rail after that green box that was beside the kinda spine thingy, and got an up-down box replacing that log cannon rail they had earlier. The up part is basically for snowboarders unless you 50-50 it, but there is a little lip that you can pop off of to get onto the down part. It's not a bad park, but probably not worth a trip there if you just wanna go to the park - I'm sure Edelweiss and other places have better ones.

Also, I saw a few kids up there today that killed it, and one guy with an NS sticker with green pants, although I didn't go talk to him... Were any of you guys up there today? There was one kid with a purple/red jacket that threw a switch 9 off the 2nd booter, and a couple other guys going for 5s and 7s. I was the kid with the brown/grey jacket and grey snowpants that was only landing some 3s and getting a couple 5s.
