My aunt & uncle went there and lived there for 3 solid years. They basically did what you are doing. They loved the whole landscape and all and said apart from monkeys raiding their house and breaking everything in the refridgerator, they had a good time.

They did say it was a little bit of a challenge when they had two little toddlers accompanying them. (their daughters) . But I don't think you'll have that problem
