I agree with ghettothug but perhaps in a more sensitive way. If mormons want to waste 2 years of their lives converting people to LDS, then whatever, its their choice. I agree with the fact that ghettothug brings up that the age the LDS church sends people on missions is the prime of your life, my 18-20 age time was the BEST, i doubt ill ever have the same careless, irresponsible, "free" time in my life again. Not saying my life now isnt great, i really enjoy my life, but im older now and have a shit ton of responsibility. I think what the LDS church, hell even most religions do has a point and place in society, but i think its stupid for kids to be sent off right after they graduate high school to spread their word for their evangelical church leaders.
Yes, SOME people get to go to pretty cool places for their missions, but some just go to ghetto ass areas of cities in the USA. I feel like the people who actually go to cool places are very lucky. So OP, embrace the culture you go to, i don't support what you're doing but at least you get a 2 year experience in a different area of the world, a lot of people dont even leave their home state.
