im not sure if there have been topics on this yet. but the new chili peppers album is weak. they are selling out big time. whatever happened to the blood sugar sex magik kind of music.

if someone played me that album not telling me who it was i'd say it was good...but knowing its the chili peppers....makes me know the chili peppers are changing a lot.

i dont think selling out is the right term for them, just cuz theyre changing. i liked their old stuff but their new stuff is tight too, just different, however, i do hate it when a band you like goes and changes to something you dont like, like silverchair for me, their first 2 albums were kick ass, their 3rd was ok and their new one sounds pretty gay.

ya sugarloafer, they aren't selling out. selling out is changing your style to become popular.

they are already popular. So, they are simply evolving and changing....

i think their selling out,

when their new guitarist came to the band he brought a new style, featured on californication. lots of slow tempo songs. after that album the realized that it sold reallyy well. so they made a new album just like it, except with more slow stuff.

i still like it.....but the chilil peppers concerts are going to become like a dave matthews concerts...1/2 true fans other half...people who just hear songs like scar tissue on the radio.

they changed the sound of their music so more people will like them. selling out.

there is a drastic difference between californication and the album before that one. i know lots more people that like them now. they arer selling out.

they have always made some slower stuff. example: under the bridge, pretty sure that one wasnt on californication

uh, correct me if I'm wrong but, the reason band's release albums is to make money... therefore, if they release an album of music which people DONT LIKE, then they wont sell albums, therefore not making money... so they tried... and it didnt work, so they alter their style a bit for the next release. So what...

what the fuck? do any of you know them? how can you say they 'sold out' when most likely they changed their music because they are sick and tired of playing the same fucking music for hte past ten years.

you people have got to drop the 'they are popular, time to have them!' attitude...it's fucking ridiculous.

yea yeti's right in a way, but they went totally to the other extreme. and jon led them to this type of music i think.

and yes under the bridge is a slow song, and so was i could have lied, but that was 2 on bssm. and its not like i dont like the slow songs, i dont like the style in the way they play the slow songs. like the singing has this weird faded song like it drags on.

its a totally new band with this album if you want my opinion.

yea, you guys shut me down about how they sold out.,
