Buying new Bindings!

So I just got a brand new pair of Faction Ambit (women's slopestyle twin) and need to get some bindings for them. They're 86 underfoot. And I'm trying to keep them under $200.

I plan on using them for park (rails and small jumps), but I'm about to move out west so may spend a bit less time in the park and more free riding.

To keep in mind, I'm 5'6 around 160lb so I don't need a massive binding. The skis I have now I usually hover around a 6 or 7 din setting.

Also to be noted, I have some pretty bad knees (multiple sprains on both) so something with a smooth release would be great.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

sth 12 driver. im 8 months out of acl/meniscus recon, and definitely feel a lot better in them (14 version though) than the px 14's i was using

i would say fks 120 but the lack of replacement brakes is a huge turn off imo

The shop around here has got the STH 10's at a really good price. What's the big difference versus the STH 10 and STH 12?

The sth12 driver have the driver toe while the sth10 have a z toe. This means that the sth12driver is much more durable and better binding, don't bother with the sth10.

Not quite. An sth 10 is actually a rebranded z10. It does not have the sth heel or toe so avoid them. Look for either the sth 12 driver from last season or get the sth2 13 from this season. If you don't ride super hard you could also look at the sth 12 oversize from this season.

They've got the STH WTR 13 from this season. It's still go the driver toe (which seems to be the good release), but the guardian heel. Would this be a pretty good compromise?

Well the attack 13 would be a better option for you, but yeah they are good. Not as good as the sth2 but they will be cheaper. You will not go wrong with either.

If you're still wondering on bindings... I have STH drivers on my Obsethed and I love them. Never had any issues with them. I would suggest focusing on what bindings you want for park, because when you start skiing out west, chances are you'll want something a lot wider than 86 for off-piste and these will end up being your park/piste skis.

Don't buy the Axium's if you're riding park, I had them and I destroyed them, I had so many issues with them broke the brakes like 4 times, they literally snapped in half. I swapped to the Rossignol Axial's and have been having zero issues with them so far and would highly recommend them.

Axiums aren't a very good binding. My buddy hit a jump with some extra speed and went about 15 feet to flat, and the heel baseplate shattered. I did the same thing on my axial 120s and they are still going strong. Axials are a good binding, but also somewhat heavier.
