Buying my new skis will they be too short??

Hi im looking to buy some new skis im 5'9" and weigh about 130lbs and wanted to get some more opinions basically my cousin has a great deal on some atomic punx 2009/2010's but they are super short 164's but they will only cost me about $120 with bindings and i usually ski shorter skis aswell so i dont know if i should take it because im a bit short on money and it would help buying these anyone have any ideas if its a bad idea or not??? need to know soonish

Thanks

its not like you're comparing dick size here.....164 will be fine to learn and progress on....moreso in the park than anywhere else on the mountain.

just bought skis that are shorter than i prefer, but its been a few days and i love em and have been having so much fun on them, size doesnt always matter but you wont know how you feeel til you have spent some time riding them

yes they're too short. you should be on something in the low 170 range, you will regret buying 164's.

its really all about personal preferance, its not like your not gonna be able to ski on them or they will limit your ability very much.

They will probably be fun to mess around on but you might wash out a little nbd

I've ridden short and long skis. Short skis can be SUPER fun on rails and small features, but it can get a little messy on larger jumps and tricks.. I honestly don't know why people that don't hit big jumps and doing huge tricks are wasting their time on long ass skis.. shorter skis are easier and more fun in every way...

Thanks for all the help well im more of a rail freak to be honest 9those gypsy's and hippies arnt going to kill themselfs) i do some of the larger kickers once in a while i was just wondering if i can get a deal on some in 173 should i get them im feelin yeahh???

if the skis are as tall as your forehead than there good, if they are below your chin then they are too short. any were in between is okay (depends on how many years you want to get out of them).

im 5'10 125lb on 176s and they feel tiny. My dad is 5'8 170lb on 185 dynastar huge troubles 140-115-130 and he rides them everyday even on groom.

164s will be pretty short

the point most people are missing is that it dosent matter how tall you are, but how much you weigh, and what you do with that ski. I weigh 165, and ride a 195, but i ski no park and hate rails. if you only weigh 130 pounds and are mainly looking for a rail\smaller jumps park ski a 164 is totaly fine.
