Buying a car, your thoughts please..

Audi A4, Manual, 1.8t 124000 miles, $5,000. I've heard scary things about audis with high miles, what do you think? I know it will cost a bit more than most cars to mantain, but i think i can deal with that...what other cars would you try to look at? ps, i need something with AWD.
 
i realize everyone will say "bandwagon" on this one..

but subaru miles > audi miles.

you can find plenty of suby's for that price range.. including some 02-03 rex's
 
You will probably need to replace the turbo pretty soon. That might not be too cheap. Depending on how the previous owner(s) drove, they usually last 90xxx-130xxx miles with full effectiveness.But its a fuckin sweet car so I would probably buy it
 
an a4 would be fine as i have heard only good things from the in the snow.

from experiance i have driving a lot of older audis all i have to say is awsome, subaru are good to. i would look into those two cars. a 93 s4 would be amazing(from experiance), having a quattro for the snow but then again pricey for parts....
 
dunno, sounds like a good buy, but you could probably look for like an older bmw 3 series with the xi meaning it had 4x4.
