Buy/Sell/Trade blows

Rather than mods wasting time trying to moderate the shitpile that is nsg, we need some serious help in b/s/t.

im talking instant delete of every thread that doesnt have competent pictures, descriptions, and at least a ballpark price range.

that and a deletion of the threads with titles like

SAGA OUTERWEAR

and a body that just says "jackets" with no fucking clue what the kid is asking for. if they want to make a WTB it needs to say WTB in the title, and they need to say what they are looking for, color, size, etc.

the mods dont actually spend alot of time in nsg.
but i agree with you completely about the pictures and titles. someone should increase the font size of that buying and selling tips sticky by a few pts....

most likley working on ski gabber and the other forums i guess. i just remeber J.D. saying that moderating NSG is a waste of time because there is always going to be stupid threads being made, no matter how many they delete. i guess gear talk gets alot of bad threads too, like asking where to buy jiberesh and such.

Much like JD etc, I don't really moderate NSG only because my idea of what is a waste of space isn't consistent with the rest of the world's opinion. Just because I don't see something as being worthwhile staying, doesn't mean it needs to be deleted (if it isn't breaking any rules) NS is exactly that, just shit which isn't ski-related. IF something is really out of line then mods get informed if they haven't spotted it already and it gets canned.

When you guys shoot us a PM letting us know about something that needs to be deleted then it happens asap, and that works well.

I moderate every other forum though, mainly SG/Gear talk, and BST - A LOT of threads get moved in and out of the above.

I personally move at least 20 threads from SG to Gear talk every day..

I've thrown the idea out in the past of just deleting BST threads without price/pictures and an accurate description. If everyone wants that, then i'm sure we can clamp down on it, but once again that comes to the point of how moderated you guys want the site to get.

At the moment there is a situation where the total shit gets deleted (i.e "WTB a jacket, show we what you got") and the somewhat vague threads end up getting specific after a few replies.

i really like this idea. i understand the concern with overmoderation from some members, but i dont really think that applies in the case of b/s/t. im a member of a nike shoe forum with a downright nazilike b/s/t forum. for me personally it makes the transaction seem that much safer, knowing that members have to be at least somewhat competent.

I think this is a really good idea. Also, what about deleting b/s/t threads that are really old? The only reason I say this is because lately I've seen a bunch of kids who are new to the sites bumping threads that are 2 years old saying "i'll give you 100 bucks for it". That bugs me to no end. Bumping a 2 year old discussion and continuing it is one thing, bumping a sale thread from '07 is just stupid.

I don't know how old is too old for a sale thread but I think it's safe to say that sale threads from 2003 are good to go haha.

yeah, and with that being said I think people should actually post in bold letters that there item is sold to prevent n00bs from bumping 2 years old threads.
