Buttermilk Park Over New Years

not sure but go to snowmass, its park is better, buttermilk will just be getting setup for x games im guessing

Alright thanks man, i guess it doesn't matter what is set up because I'm going anyways so I'll just ski whatever is there. Thanks for the input.

that is prime powder season so you dont really need a park. that being said. the more you ski park the more powder i can ski.

buttermilk will be nothing special since it is before the xgames. like is was said above go to snowmass. their park is going to be sick this year with new features including a 22' pipe and it is only a 10 minute drive from buttermilk with free bus service!

have fun. i have lived in aspen my whole life and the mountains are all super awesome.

Woah woah woah never did I say I would skip pow for park. I was just wondering about the park for days when all the fresh is cut up.
Also, I can only bring one pair of sticks on the trip.
189 surface one lifes (slay pow and BC, do alright on jumps for small spins, no rails)
or
Line invaders (my park ski. I've skied bumps, trees, and pow with it and it does surprisingly well for such a loose, narrow ski)
Or demo some skis that do it all. What do?

it is all personal preference. it also depends on the weather. you dont want to be stuck with pow skis if there isnt any pow and you dont want park skis if there is a shit load of snow. i would say bring the ones you are are most comfortable with. the park skis might be the best choice cus you can still ski park but you can also ski them in powder if it snows. i have used my old rossignol scratch 174's on major powder days and they work fine. it is up to you. no matter what you bring you will have a lot of fun i can assure you that.

are you going on a family trip or with friends?

I'm staying in a girl from my school's house there with a couple friends. My parents are coming but they don't ski much and are staying in a different house. I'll probably go with my invaders and if it gets REALLY deep ill just demo something wide and fun.
now my utah trip this year...thats one for my fatties

check the ten day forecast for when you're gonna be there and make note of the current conditions, that's the only way to be able to judge.

Have a great trip!

Snowmass either way. I'll warn you though, Snowmass tends not to rush their parks. They try to get everything fully open by christmas/new years but i've seen them not open the super pipe and the medium park until after new years.

Also, I see you're from CA so you prob ski Tahoe. Hike the Bowl at Highlands and hike the Wall at Snowmass. You won't want to ski park after that...

hike the bowl for sure. if you can do it on a sunny day so you can see the views

also check the snow conditions right before you leave then you will get the best info about what skis you should bring
