I see way to often in the video posts people claiming "butter on" and all they are doing is a revert then getting on the rail normally.

I may be preching to the choir but it seems way to many people don't understand the concept.

For those who don't understand:

When you revert around, either on the tail or nose of your skis, the part of the ski that you have flexed off the ground never touches the ground again until you land the trick.

both tricks look pretty good, probably because the first one has a 270 out, but you can see a difference, the second guy starts alot later

a bad butter is called margarine...but a good butter is either slow or fast. heed does slow ones that get pressed hard, i tend to do it in one motion.

butter's should never been done off jumps...they always look like shit.

ex. candide in RFA i think...he just tirns before the lip, scraping the snow off the kicker and gets shitty air...looks like crap off jumps

for jibs though it looks cool. pete O in X has the sick switch butter 270 on 270 off the s rail/box thing. now that looks fucking sweet

I almost wouldn't call Candide's butter a true butter in RFA. It looked like a revert off of the lip. Hell, even I can do that. But TJ's butter 5 in X was dope as hell

A "true" butter is Tanner Rainville's nose 360 in Yearbook. best butter i've ever seen.

I know it is not the best example. But if you search the video section for "butter" you get video after video of reverts. In the video you can at least clearly see that the butter is done onto the box and not a revert normal on.
