BUSTED: The Citizen's Guide to Surviving Police Encounters

YO this is a repost, but for a good reason. i made a thread with this link about a year ago and it has honestly saved me already in some tricky situations.

i know its long but WATCH IT, IT WILL HELP YOU SOMETIME DOWN THE ROAD

i guarentee it

ive seen it, and its definately worth watching if you ever do anything illegal, especially concerning drugs, alcohol. this vid is pretty much directly aimed at stoners

do police have the right to search your car if he sees that your friend's eyes are bloodshot red?

none whatsoever, but if he says like why are you eyes bloodshot im gonna need to search your car, if you let him then its legal

First, obviously none of this is useful to Canadians, so don't follow this video if you're in Canada. Second, why don't you just... not carry a bunch of drugs around in your car?

Wow. You're really smart. This video has saved my ass quite a few times from getting caught. Watch it or don't its really your choice but its worth the 45 minutes.

Doesn't matter if your black or hispanic or live in LA, shit can happen to anyone.

Its not so much about that. Its about not getting fucked over by the cops for having an 1/8 bag or a handle of captain mo in the trunk.

Also the house part is informative on how to deal with cops when they come to your place on a noise complaint. Its best to know how to not fuck yourself over.

wow that was the most ignorent thing iv ever heard..... this is aimed at dumb shit like you.... there is alot of good info in that movie and your rasist remarks are completly out of line.... go learn somthing outside of your protected little life before you open your mouth again....

most of the rights are the same in this case.

from the charter of rights and freedoms:

Search or seizure

8. Everyone has the right to be secure against unreasonable search or seizure.

Detention or imprisonment

9. Everyone has the right not to be arbitrarily detained or imprisoned.

Arrest or detention

10. Everyone has the right on arrest or detention

a) to be informed promptly of the reasons therefor;

b) to retain and instruct counsel without delay and to be informed of that right; and

c) to have the validity of the detention determined by way of habeas corpus and to be released if the detention is not lawful.

Treatment or punishment

12. Everyone has the right not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment or punishment.

Self-crimination

13.

A witness who testifies in any proceedings has the right not to have

any incriminating evidence so given used to incriminate that witness in

any other proceedings, except in a prosecution for perjury or for the

giving of contradictory evidence.

Most people don't know their rights when dealing with the police. This isn't about carrying drugs in your car, its about not being harassed by the police. The reason those rights are upheld in America is that the founding fathers did not want the government or any of its agents abusing power.

I don't know how it is in Canada, but remember that in the US the people are (or at least were) in control of the government and not vice versa.

Before the US came into existence the British could issue general warrants for example where they could come to your house with a warrant to search. Except the warrant would not specify what or who they were looking for/arresting. You can see the problem with this can't you? As a result American warrants have to be specific. The whole point of the Constitution of the US is to define what powers the government has with the purpose of LIMITING Government. Although the United States has many problems, at least we have these basic protections built into our system, which even most government agents are cautious to break.

Insinuating that this is just about drugs is idiotic.

So with all due respect, SHUT THE FUCK UP.
