lets turn this into a debate. Bush was quoted as saying:

'No democracy can allow religious people to impose their own view of perfection on others, because this invites cruelty and arrogance that are foreign to every faith.'

Does he realize that he is VERY guilty of doing that? like, is he seriously saying that? what about all these anti abortion, safe sex only, and anti stem cell research stances he's taken?

Although i see your point you also have to look at his position in power. There either has to be a law against or one protecting abortion. Same with stem cell researh. In either case you upset a religious stance. As a politcal leader he is forced to choose and of course he will choose his personal views. You cannnot blame him for that. Every President does that, now you guys are just trying to hard to attack Bush.

agreed, but there ARE other cases (I'm far to lazy to go dig them up) where he has specifically said eh has done something in the name of god. and MANY times he has made comments attesting to his god. whether you see it or not, he is doing what he can to shove his conservative Christian values down our throat. being NOT religious, I resent that, as do the millions of non Christians (and even some Christians) in this country. I can't wait to vote against him, and then see him loose.

I met my first real Bush supporter yesterday at a bar, one of my old high school friends. He supported Bush because of 2 reasons: His parents were getting a lot of money back from the govnt (They are extremely wealthy) and he supported Bush's 'aggressive war tactics'. He said about time someone started killing off the Arabs and bombing the shit out of all those backwards countries. I looked at him horrified, asked him if he was serious, and he said yes. He said that's why most of his friends like BUsh too. I don't even know what to say, besides that's terrible.

Actualy he is trying to force his view on us... he panders endlessly the the ultra conservative christian right for as much support as possible (he is infact a full fledge born again christian... which in my eyes is pushing twoards the lines of the christian equivalent of an islamic fundamentalist)

He is pushing as hard as possible for a CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT banning gay marriage on religious grounds. Last December Bush said a constitutional amendment will be needed if 'Judicial rullings undermine the sanctity of marriage'

The previous october Bush said his administration's laywers were looking for a way to legaly limit marriage to heterosexuals. When he was asked if gays were sinners he responded:

'We're all sinners. We're all sinners.'

If you ask me... thats a pretty fucking sketchy thing to be coming out of our presidents mouth.

Separation of church and state was one of the corner stones of the foundation of this nation... Bush is trying hard to remove that separation.

Stem cel research is another HUGE religious issue for him.

Aww, I had to get into this, but not so much just a few facts to put forward:

Bush winning the election...

1. It's somewhat confusing, but, you can't really say that Bush didn't win the popular vote, and you can't say he won it either. Ex. Bush could have won in a landslide in Texas, and those votes could have outnumbered those that Gore won in Florida. It's hard to explain, but I hope that some of yall can understand it.

2. Many people may not have voted because of the media. Many TV stations reported that Gore had already won before the polls closed, detering both Bush and Gore voters. There are so many things that influeced that election that you can't say that BUsh won or didn't win the popular vote.

'Separation of Church and State'

The constitution does not call for a wall between church and state. It says only 3 things about religion.

1.Article VI 'No religious text shall ever be required as a Qualification to any office or public Trust under the US.'

2,3. Amendment I 'Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise therof.'

I'm not going to get into the rest of the argument of Bush 'imposing his religious beliefs.'

One last thing: Bush will win the election. Republican states have gained electoral votes, while Democratic states have lost them. Also, Hilary Clinton is basically lined up to run in the 2008 election. They will do what they can to show support for Kerry, but they will try not to let him win.

Don't even bother with him, it's not worth the argument. Every reliable poll has said that it's far too close to call, and they only poll expected voters... as has been said, sept 11 changes everything; we have no idea who will vote this year and who will stay home. There's no way to predict this election realistically.

Oh wait. I just argued with him. Guess I enjoy wasting my time for no good reason.

Whether you support Bush, and his policies or not, is totally different than thinkn that this guy is a total moron. The time he actually appears with normal intelligence is when reading, otherwise the guy just cant think of a right answer.
