i saw this burton ad on the back of a snowlerboarding mag.. i belive it was transworld

it had a pic of a snowboarder and a skier and said how they were alike or different

*they both wear the same clothes

*one rides the pipe and the other rides the pole

*something something (i forget)

*both there skis and snowboards are made by the same company

then it said burton: suport the originator, not the asimilator or something like that...

wtf i thoutht that burton was suporting the freeski industry??

yeah i've seen two more like that, one where they have a picture of boarder filled in with rainbow colors ( maybe symbolizing gay pride) and on his board it says ' insert $ki company logo here', then another one it had a bunch of old, like original snowboards and it said ' if it wasn't for these, this would be a ski magazine' not amusing

My friend asked me if i wanted to lay out or go water skiing, and thats when i realized that i dint want to answer this question and or any other aquatic sports question and i didn't want to see any of these people again. Next thing I new I went nuts.

guys line has a sticker that says your mom rides a snowboard and nobody cares, line also advertises that they dont make snowboards its the same thing just from the other side, i dont know what you guys expect as of right now snowboard mags/vids and everything is 10x ahead of skiing, i mean i love skiing but 90% of skiers are queer.

i could care less of what snowboarders think of skiing or how they portray us in their mags. I have no problem with any of my snowboarder friends and they don't have any problem with me...and that's all i really care about.

they wear the same clothes

they listen to the same music

they both make fun of snollerblades

 
yea too bad that sims snowboards just came out from beeing bankrupt...one of my friends just started working for the guy who owns the company or somthing...must be their way of trying to get people to think their company is cool by putting down our sport

i just dont really care how are sport gets portrayed in boarder mags or anywhere else. I think i would have liked it even more if when you were on twintips most people were like what the hell are those? now there are lots of people riding on them which means more and more posers

The people in the media and advertising industry are the ones we need to be mad at now. those la faggots are just in it to make a buck and dont' give a flying fuck weather they piss someone off, in fact they hope to, stirr up something and thus the company gets noticed, not neccesarily in a good way but it is still attention. but yeah, snowboarding is gay.

Snowboarders copied skiing, supposedly, well then how come all of our tricks are named after snowboard tricks? Mute, japan, etc. Or our style and the way skiings clothing and designs emulates boarders. Boarding has progressed every year by leaps and bounds, and skiing is too, more and more, as it is still in its infancy, at least this new school movement is. It is a downright stupid argument to say that one belongs and one doesn't and that one copies the other and blah blah. We are all in it for the same reasons, I'd like to think we are anyways!

 
Skiing's come a long way from the brink of extinction, let me just say that. and if you think it wasn't you're a fool. I mean, skiing died, totally, then the twins and fats came around and gave rebirth to it. It's almost like a new sport and we should treat it as such. As a new sport, newschool skiing is growing faster than anything I've ever seen. We've still got a long ways to go mind you, but most of it is just publicity and gettin the products on the hill. A lot of the riders have reached a new level in riding. I mean just the other day I watched a video from TWO YEARS BACK, and just watching it I thoguht the tricks looked kinda old, now is that not progression in a sport. It was a lot of rodeos, mistys, and normal spins. I mean look at shit now two years later. Corked, D-spins, dinners, bio, flats, there's tons of new tricks in the bag, that's only a few. I think skiings comin back to stay for sure.

Two years ago you can't tell me you got a lot of respect from all the boarders, but now I bet you can say it's a lot different. Hell, at my hill you'd be hardpressed to find a boarder that will show me up even when it's all for fun. We all get along, ride together and make fun of eachother in our own way, about the one or two plankers.

Point being our new version of skiing is here to stay, and people will and do respect it. I mean why wouldn't you? It's the old school that's out, and to them I feel sorry, but that's just the way it goes, maybe freestyle moguls'll have a small chance in comin back,... but I doubt it.
